First in a series of four illustrations depicting me and my mate (now temporarily transformed into a tanuki!) going through the various seasons of the year. This is the one that started it all. Here we are seen enjoying a last foraged meal of delicious mushrooms, acorns and other goodies before cuddling up in our cozy den and hibernating for the rest of winter, as tanukis in cold regions do (the only known canid species to do so!). Probably my favorite in the series, along with "Fall". Commissioned by  Sagemane.
