So continuing off the previous pic, Ryan’s lore goes like this, both for his wolf form (which I never actually put lore on lol) and centaur form:
The younger cousin of Sabrina, Ryan was born human. At a young age however, and with a burgeoning love of mythology and the Anthro community, he was given the opportunity to follow in his older cousin’s footsteps and become a wolftaur.
About 15 years later, not long before his 21st birthday, he was driving to Sabrina’s place from college on the outskirts of Yorktown with his girlfriend and fiancé Claire (owned by my friend on hiatus), an ottaur, when a portal opened in front of their vehicle. Unfortunately, they didn’t see it till it was too late, their self driving vehicle going straight through it to another world. Their vehicle was wreaked, they were unable to get up to the portal again, only able to send a distress signal back to Yorktown.
Sabrina, Dust Charter, and all the other authorities arrived, and determined the portal too unstable to travel back through, only able to send supplies there for them to survive. (The world they landed on is a WHOLE other story.) Ultimately, due to a previous interaction with this world that Sabrina and Dust had had prior, and then again a year or so later, all at different points in this world’s history, it was determined that Ryan and Claire’s presence was instrumental in the development of the world, and they could not leave, leaving the two taurs stranded away from home, and putting Sabrina in mild distress at being helpless.
After a year or two of sporadic communication with her cousin, and having developed her head collection prior to the incident in the first place for a scenario like this, Sabrina decided to take advantage of a sort of legal loophole in the laws of magic. Seek in Yorktown, cloning is highly regulated and in many cases outright illegal. A clone can only be created for the preservation of already existing life, and can not have a separate “soul” than that of the original. Essentially, every clone is one individual, who all share memories and experiences of various sensations. If one clone gets hurt, they all feel the sensation of pain, more or less, even if that means preventing a death. (Very complex rules I’m still working out myself but that’s magic for you hehe.) This is how Sabrina’s head collection works as well. One mind, all magically connected, even while in a dormant state. So, having already created a clone of Ryan’s head prior, and with his main body and soul being essentially severed from the magic network of the Yorktown-verse, Sabrina chose to essentially remake him, in a form of his choosing.
With help from a couple mage friends (including Korin by (insert link later)), she communicated with Ryan again and made an “image” of his soul, implanting that in a second clone of his head. With that version of him in Yorktown, they rebuilt him a body to his choosing, but also one different enough to not raise suspicion from the Terran Council. He opted for a true classic centaur body, like those he’d read about in history books, and had befriended a few over the years.
Although, taking advantage of the situation to essentially start new, he also opted for complete headlessness using the same magic as La Ciudad Dulla, having always enjoyed the feeling that city brought him on previous trips there. So, with his new head retracted into his body for good, and essentially a new soul and life in Yorktown, he moved in with one of his centaur friends by the name of Yuuki in the village of Kingsmill Plantation, a historic car free humanthro community on the edge of Yorktown near Historic Jamestown, built for centaurs, equitaurs, and other hoofed humanthros.
He ultimately took a job at alternating at Jamestown, Williamsburg, and Yorktown Battlefield Park as a ranger and guide, having long been a fan of history and the Revolutionary War in general.
So, that’s Ryan in a nutshell! You will definitely see more of him soon.
