Last time, we talked about the Night. Now, we will talk about the Day.
Before the War, the God of the Day was as cold as the Church he ruled over. Truth was their anthem, and they strove to force their version of it on every level of society. That, in turn, lead to the Church's downfall, for during the beginning of the War, the officials of the Church of Day were blinded by the light their god shone forth.
During the mid-point of the War, a Construct of Mor'Chai came forth to the deity and offered his services in the name of Good, not knowing of the Evil the light hid. He taught the Church how to make counters for the other five Constructs, known as the Avatars. For the rest of the war, the Constructs and the Avatars led their battles across the world, and it was certain to be a stalemate. Meanwhile the Church investigated the traitor. It was almost providence that the information gathered by them gave the Church the right to pass sentence upon the Construct. Much to his horror, Sh'Tol agreed to the punishment and volunteered personally to purge him of the darkness his soul had. The Construct fled, barely escaping.
It didn't matter, though. During one of the final battles of the War, known as The Grand Conjunction, an Avatar was captured by Mor'Chai's forces and fell under the tender mercies of one of the Constructs, known as the Creator. Sh'Tol used the capture as an excuse for a far more dangerous gambit than was originally called for, and, with the Church's help, summoned forth a massive wave of energy that decimated Mor'Chai's forces. Little did they know that The Creator had a plan of his own, which went horribly awry....
Mor'Chai, horrified by what his minions did, did something unprecedented: He asked for Sh'Tol's help in the recovery of the world. Alas, the elemental was too proud to accept and instead started to gather his forces for one final push. With the help of The Great Father and the Absolutes of Good and Evil, Mor'Chai destroyed him. (He then asked to be sealed away....)
Five hundred years later, after Mor'Chai's release and his friend's selfless sacrifice, the Great Father took the soul of the friend and resurrected Sh'Tol with it. Far kinder and compassionate than the previous incarnation, Sh'Tol helped illuminate a world darkened by the War's aftermath.
So ends this chapter of the Tales of the World.
