The final iteration of the device for my SCA Heraldry. Egmund Först lives!

The black field stands for grief, but the green chevron stands for joy in protecting others. The waves represent water and are there to show homage to the kingdom of Trimeris (which has the colours of blue and white), which is the SCA kingdom I was in before (the white, black, and green are also homages to the colours of the barony of An Crosaire, which was my local barony in the SCA in Florida).

The dog represents loyalty and protection, and is coloured white for peace and serenity. It's attitude (position) is passant guardant, or full aspect, which means body in profile but head facing front towards the viewer. It's another protection symbol.

The gold sun represents power and life, and the white crescent represents one who has been enlightened and honoured by the sovereign. It, and the loyalty symbolism of the dog, are homages to my real life surname, which comes from the reputation of being good servants in the hall of a lord or king. The sun and moon together also are a personal motif I like because I like the twilight, and liminality in general.
