Personally I found a delicious combo of Mac n Cheese with a P.F.Chang's frozen meal. Honey Chicken or Teriyaki Chicken. Just mix them in with the Mac and Cheese once each are prepared. Really delicious. ^__^ Some nice mixed veggies added to the combo and you have most of a complete meal.
Micky's adding the salt to the boiling water that would otherwise go in before you put the macaroni in to boil, I trow. I've never thought of macaroni & cheese as a kid's food but rather as a comfort food. Made per the box, it's boiled bread-carb pasta and some processed cheese, with a little bit of milk and shortening, a cousin to a grilled cheese sandwich with heavier processing of foodstuffs.
I don't expect everyone to think of it as I- and I suspect you, Chris- do, and that's as it should be.
