NOTE: The description below will be shared with August, Patru, Carro, Solson and Hendric, as they went into the mountain base altogether.
Description:
Solson (the horned monkey), Hendric (the horse), August (the white rabbit), Patru (the bird), and Carro (the puma) resided in the American community at the outskirts of Tokyo, Japan. Despite being similar and familiar with Vanilla (the tanuki) and Midorou (the green wolf), they were their own gang, often going to the city after school to do their own business, as in playing arcade games, hanging out in their favorite alley, and eating American fast food. After having witnessed several events in the community directly involving Vanilla and Midorou, they felt envious yet inspired, and decided to follow the similar path that the two went through, though they declined the quick injection from Midorou, who instead turned his childhood friends into hunks. That was pretty much out of the five's desire to make time and effort in getting things done. With much info about the MALAKAS Project provided by him, as well as the permission from both their parents and local elders, the gang prepared themselves a week before going to the United States.
Fortunately for the five, with the help from Vanilla's father, they easily contacted the young tanuki to have them temporarily stay with him in San Francisco, as they initially had nothing else to do in the US once they fulfilled their stay in the mountain base. However, Vanilla sensed potential in the five and persuasively suggested that they could take on the instructorship there. Realizing themselves to have left no significance to their own community other than slacking off for personal entertainment, the five decisively agreed with the tanuki's idea, hoping for more opportunities from the project. By the time the five arrived at the mountain base, they were greeted by a group of rather stern higher-ups concerning around the project. Despite having recognized their relations with Vanilla, who once brought two new faces in depsite being Super Soldiers in technicality, they were disappointed to find no concrete evidence in them, lest they could have a chance to pin on Christopher North's insubordination. As the higher-ups left, the five were met by Chris who, having overheard the said group, politely asked them to ignore those meddling superiors and accompanied them to one bunker.
On the next day, the gang would be training under Simon Köksultan Nightwolffe as their instructor, but as days went on, each of them had developed individual preferences that could benefit either himself, the gang or both. Solson, a former Karate student for two years, had refreshed his skills which evolved into the Mixed Martial Arts, in addition to small blades he once used to steal from unsuspecting bypassers, befitting him for a thief class. Hendric, a big fan of swordfighting games, had put his hobby into a more practical use through a variety of swords (including a katana and a greatsword), either single-handed or dual wielding, setting himself up for a warrior class. August, being an altar boy with a knowledgeable chunk of Medieval European history back home, he brought up the practice of shield making and herbal medicine, a prerequisite for a cleric class, albeit more preferable with a mace than with herbs. Patru, usually a scout for the five and familiar with security systems around Tokyo, began building up through archery and scouting in hopes of preventing potential guards getting in the gang's way, making way for the archer class, though he often switched between a bow and a crossbow depending on circumstances. And finally, Carro, the tallest of the gang and once a part-time hauler in a local warehouse, exerted the best he could to become a tank class, through hardening his own body and opening access to other weapon types deemed too heavy for the rest of the gang.
Satisfied of having become Super Soldiers with a temporary Juggernaut ability, just a few months later, the five thought of coming back home to show off to their people, until August reminded them about their agreement with Vanilla. Also bringing up their lack of contributions to their community, the five decided to become instructors for the rest of 2021 till October 2022 (in technical span of 12 months). While Chris was satisfied to see them as he came to check on them, the higher-ups remained bummed that the gang still bore nothing criminal in their favor.

Regarding the Super Soldiers though, the majority of them came from places outside California (and some more outside the US) and would rather pursue their own goals or deal with their problems over joining the conquest against even the US state. However, there's still a sizeable portion who would want control over California, they just needed to persuade the mayor and the regular army to do so. To conquer the nation so big, they felt the need to take it slowly, i.e. taking control over nearby states one by one. There's also a very small chunk opposed to that, but had been pressured to remain silent.
In the case of the failed empire of Brisa Creek, Super Soldiers were super proud of beating it, owing thanks to the MALAKAS Project, but should they want to make their own empire, they could start taking control over the beaver town, as well as winning respect and obedience from already muscularized townsfolk there.
