Pythia is the goddess of prophecy and future sight. Though she is the goddess of prophecy, she is not omniscient and can mostly see the most likely paths future events can take. Though she is blind, Pythia uses her future sight to navigate obstacles. She is known to help races through oracles.
An enchanting creature of prophesy and future sight. Pythia is able to navigate through time and space using her gift of foresight. Guiding and helping people they come across. They are described as a Goddess of divine light and shimmering beauty. The rarest sight of all being their feral Phoenix form shooting through the sky like a golden arrow.
Ketos is always found at her side.
“His stare follows me”
Born to a poor family on the southern continent, Pythia had a sweet and kind way with words as she wasn’t guarnteed to eat or even drink clean water on the daily, the harsh nature of her people made them rely on very little nutrition and energy to function, her father worked the mines and her mother worked a lighthouse as a keeper where Pythia often helped out running deliveries from age 4, making herself useful.
One of thirteen children she stood out as the one who lived, illness and accidents and even kidnapping and murder took her siblings one by one as her mother and father did their best to take care of her.
When she reached age 7 her father went on down in the the mines and didn’t come back out, his employer paid his final check to Pythia’s mother, Cera. She mourned her father Luciusk and her mother not sure what to do sold most the stuff they owned and went to the market to buy seeds to grow their own food in the hard times as one of the great wars was about to break out, her mother always seemed to know when a ship was coming or when trouble was coming on.
Pythia’s mother eventually went on to the market as autumn came to claim the summer heat, as she sold her goods and greens making money enough to buy a fire spell and keep them warm for the winter when she tripped on her way home.
She looked and found the dead body of an all black female monster of sorts, it was as big as a bear with thin legs and a thick huge coat of fur, normally she would not take advantage but she checked and the body was still warm, possibly not even entirely dead.
She dragged it home and placed it in the stable making sure it was dead when she skinned it to treat the pelt and make a comforter for her her daughter to keep warm a little better in the cold.
But as the blade pinned into the abdomen the belly moved, she recoiled as it moved again with the softest peep.
‘’What’s that?’’ she heard as Pythia came in behind her, asking softly approaching her mother as her mother cut the body open and let the womb of the beast slide out of it, something inside clearly wiggling.
Cera cut the puppies out of their dead mother, they swarmed Cera softly peeping and whimpering with a echoing strange chiming bell sound to the barks.
‘’What in the world’’ Cera said as she picked the pups up and put them in a basket taking all 13 of them inside for warmth.
The babies grew up healthy thanks to Cera and Pythia feeding and raising them, they grew up to be large and strange dog like creatures of all colors, with the one in black with an off brown and cyan tint on it taking a strong liking to Pythia.
Pythia named it Ketos and asked her mother to keep it, who said yes and allowed the girl to raise it as a pet. The other 12 were allowed to roam free coming home on and off but did not stop growing, eventually becoming the size of a massive bear, they did scare off people but kept Pythia and her mother safe.
When the war came closer and the armies of the south began taking people and animals for the army they didn’t spare Pythia and Cera, they tried to claim the animals, but Cera and Pythia refused to call them in and were almost taken to jail if not for Ketos scaring the soldiers off, with Cera promising the soldiers they could hide in her lighthouse and also promised to alarm the land if she spotted an enemy vessel.
They reluctantly took the deal, soldiers now lived with them on and off eating all their resources until the day Cera saw the ship the size of a bigger castle come to the shore, she lit the red lights warning land before the ship slammed into the shoreline and the invasion began.
Pythia was dragged out of bed as she hid with her mother behind the woods near their home when Chaya the evil mistress of light, who used strong and inhuman lighting powers to hurt people, came at them.
She was attacked by all twelve of the siblings of Ketos one by one until all twelve fought her at once, Pythia hugging Ketos leg trembling in fear as Ketos pulled into battle, all siblings of dogs attacked together and almost took Chaya out, she was saved last minute by E’Kith the spike king, who began impaling the animals one by one sending them to the sky on spikes stretching from land to heaven when Ketos was almost struck.
Pythia knew she could not do much, she did however not have it in her to see the last one die and ran at Chaya with a knife in her hand sneaking up on her from behind before screaming ‘’YOU MEANIE!’’ and stabbing the woman up the butt crack with all her might sending her forward to bump into Ketos and be the one impaled in his place, sending her to the heaven with the spike through her back, lightning struck her ten times over frying her to a crisp.
E’Kith found it so funny he almost forgave it when Ketos ripped his arm off and Cera came in for the save using every spell she ever learned, basically shooting nails, heating small areas and simple easy spells that deal small damage which stopped his focus whenever he attacked Ketos.
Pythia didn’t know how to help and looked to the sky as the many spikes coming from the ground going to the heavens and looked to the lighthouse and ran up the lighthouse when on the stairs going up, planning on shooting the evil spike king from the top.
She reached the top and grabbed the crossbow used to shoot messages and began firing at the king when he slammed Cera and Ketos against the ground and shot against her when she fired a bolt through his forehead taking him out and running down celebrating with the others.
Pythia grew up becoming a lighthouse keeper just like her mother and helped grow good crops and eventually expand to a small multi family community.
She eventually gained the powers of future knowledge just like her mother, but weak as it was she didn’t see everything or enough and eventually realized when dreaming or when in the dark she could do it better, so she took one last good look at her loved ones, closed her eyes and never opened them again.
She became known as the seer of the south lighthouse, thousands a year came to see her making her and her mother rich, with the war going on many warlords and military got advice from her.
She eventually gave advice to a god named Sydriel and gained god powers herself, he blessed her, her mother and Ketos to immortality and boosted their abilities.
Pythia eventually moved in a bit on land making the village of ‘Sorong’ leaving her mother one town over. She now moves around in the world doing her work keeping private while her mother, Cera, still lives in the lighthouse as happy as ever, always able to close her eyes knowing Pythia will come back home, safe and sound.
