Randomly looking at things to watch, cam across an anime called Yumekui Merry, in which the first couple of episodes debuted this character, John Doe Hunter. He's supposedly a denizen of the Nightmare realm, seeking at first a "vessel" with which to enter the real world, which by "vessel" meaning taking over someone's body.

Apparently he relents, instead taking a bit of an advisor role to the main character. He is constantly followed by a gang of tiny bipedal cats, who are either part of him, or fellow nightmares doing his bidding. (I'm guessing the latter).

So.. yeah.
