This might be my last drawing for desert theme for the time being. Next theme is jungle i guess. The character for it might be Minp or Ava or both. So im excited for it ^^. But before that, i have finish all of the commissions.

Capsizing

Ruba got a visitor from the distant land of Imperial City. Is his best friend, Lishi, who is just starting out his Master Degree in Magic and Spell Engineering. Ruba wants to surprise him by showing him that he is a mermaid by sailing with him down a small river that they had sailed together when they were kids.

Lishi is impressed by Ruba's new form. He can change into a mermaid once he is in the water. Ruba can breathe water since he has gills; however, it's not very efficient as he now has two ways of breathing crammed into a small space in his chest. Ruba has to resurface once in a while to get oxygen delivered to his body.

The river seems to be deeper than they remember. It's all due to the town they both live in being abandoned. Once a thriving agricultural town, it now lies in ruin, slowly being consumed by the desert sand. As they were having a chat together. The boat that Lishi was on crashed into an underwater rock. Water is rushing in from the big hole that was created by that collision. Lishi was terrified as he held on to the highest place on the sinking boat, but eventually he lost his grip and fell into the river.

Luckily he has the mermaid on his side, ready to rescue...
