Once, in the older kingdom of Garabaan ruled by a long line of Garchomp royals, was the next in line, Khanuru, Prince of Garabaan. To the people, he was portrayed as a flawless, imposing, and wise man who would one day take the throne and lead his land to endless prosperity and glory...a lie at the time. The current king and queen at the time, unsuccessful at having an heir for many years, treasured and spoiled their only son, for he was the only one that could continue their royal bloodline. Khanuru was actually never seen by anyone other than his parents and personal servants who all continued the propaganda of him being almost a demi god of sorts. The truth was that the prince was quite the spoiled brat. Knowing little of politics and caring nothing more than enjoying himself in his quarters, Khanuru grew fat and lazy from being given anything he desired. He got so big that he would not even leave his bed, and he could not care less. His parents were too soft on him, as he was their only child, and his personal servants were treated very well to hide the true nature of the prince. For most of his early life, he stayed this way without a care in the world...but it was not meant to last forever.
His father and mother were actually weak rulers and their kingdom had become complacent. They had not known strife or conflict for many years and had never imagined that, right under their noses, a revolution was forming. Agents from their neighboring countries, jealous of Garabaan's luxury, plotted within the desert country's own walls to overthrow the royalty and take it's resources for their own. Spreading lies about they royal family's greed and treachery, the managed to convince enough of Garabaan's people that their rulers were using them for their own gain and started a successful coup. The king and queen were slain, and those loyal to them imprisoned, enslaved, or also put the the sword. When the conspirators went to face the prince, unaware of his true nature, they were most amused at what they found. The bloated Garchomp was absolutely no threat to them, not even able to stand, and when he was dragged out and thrown at the feet of his people, their shock and anger at being lied to all these years only further enabled the conspirators to take over. Khanuru, now aware of his family and loyal subjects fates had little time to think, as he was cast out from his kingdom and forced into exile. His massive bulk couple with his extreme inactivity in his chambers left him with little hope of survival but there was one place he could go.
Loyal to the royal family for years were a small order of priestesses who's mystical nature, knowledge, and magical abilities had been a boon to the kingdom. Though it was likely that they were also slain, the former prince had no choice. And so, like a lowly snake, the exiled prince dragged himself through the sand.
He went on for what easily felt like miles to him, his weak body quickly being burdened by the desert heat and fatigue. Miraculously, through pure determination and desperation, he dragged himself for an entire day the the priestesses' shrine. Only to find it seemingly empty and devoid of all life. With all his willpower spent, Khanuru lost consciousness and resigned himself to death...but it was not his time.
He was then awoken by a women's voice and touch. It was the leader of the order, a Garchomp like him, the High Priestess Sharah, and the only one left for all her sisters were killed as part of the coup. She had a little secret that kept her alive. While here sisters were indeed skilled in mysticism and magic, they were nothing more unique than that. Sharah however was both mortal and a Djinn, a creature akin to a Genie but not bound to any artifact like a lamp. Able to conjure up her own mini plane of existence to hide in, he rescued the prince and brought him to her little world to recover.
A few days went by with Khanuru truly realizing what he had lost and for once, a new feeling burned within his chest, rage, frustration. His kingdom and family were taken from him and he was powerless to stop it. Sharah too shared a similar mindset in losing her sisters and she was willing to help Khanuru take their home back but he was absolutely in no shape to do anything and they were in great need of allies to gain their land back. Fortunately, Sharah was more long lived than the average Garchomp and she was well experienced in defending herself and her order making her an efficient teacher for the former prince.
Though rigorous, difficult (almost hopeless at times), Sharah managed to get the lazy ex prince into fighting shape, physically and mentally. While still needing some work, Khanuru was definitely ready to go. However, just the two of them were no where near enough to take back their home, so they had to seek out allies and grow stronger, so that one day they could return home and claim what was they had lost.
So then began the long journey of Khanuru and quite a journey it was. It's smaller moments just as grand as it's larger ones but the whole adventure would simply be too much to cover all in detail here.
Through his travels he learned that those that took over his kingdom and already done so to the surrounding lands and their goal was to take all the world for themselves. Assisting the other nations with regaining their own homes, Khanuru gained allies and close friends who fought by his side the whole way. He gained respect and support from the nations he liberated from the usurpers. He himself become a powerful and imposing warrior, fitting the image that was crafted when he was a prince all that time ago. His body retained a hefty but powerful build and he became a master of dual wielding scimitars, his rapid and surprisingly acrobatic style completely baffling his enemies with it's speed and power. By his side remained the ever loyal high priestess, Sharah, her mystic powers rubbing off of Khanuru eventually giving him his own mystical abilities. He gained control over the sands, with their mystical properties serving to enhance his weapons and his very body making him even more sturdy and powerful than he already was.
With enough support and strength, Khanuru led an assault on the new Garabaan, who's people had been put in the very situation they thought they were avoiding, enslaved and used to serve those they once helped to gain power. Garabaan's resources were now gained from sweat and blood, off the the endless labor of it's people and their rulers' bloody raids of other lands, it's people forced to fight. With a long battle and brutal battle Khanuru and his forces rose as the victors, the last of the usurpers were slain, their influence gone from the world and Garabaan was one again under the rule of it's true royal bloodline.
The people of Garabaan were absolutely dumbfounded that the one leading the forces against their oppressors was none other than Prince Khanuru. How much he had changed from the spoiled whale of a Garchomp he was to a brave and formidable warrior, much like they were led to believe he was originally. He now absolutely fit the image and he was gladly accepted as the new ruler.
With his long journey granting him a new look on life and giving him all the experience he needed, Khanuru led his kingdom to a new golden age, fostering very close relations with the other lands he traveled to.
However, he knew all to well how pleasing a life of excess was and he absolutely did not want to give it up forever. He went easily went back to his hedonistic ways, his form enlarging even more than when he was a prince but never he forgot was got him to where he was now. He remained a strong ruler and shared his kingdom's wealth with all it's people and beyond. So even then, he was still loved by them all.
Surprisingly enough he never lost his strength and was not all too burdened by his heft. But he would sometimes remember how glorious he was back on his long journey in wonderful fighting form. One night, he visualized himself back to how he was before with all his will and surprisingly enough, he awoke to find himself with that exact same form but then reverting quickly.
Turning to the mystical expert, who remained as his high priestess and began to rebuild her order, Sharah helped him discover that all the mystical might he gained over his journey still remained and if focused hard enough, he could regain his fighting form as long as he wished.
Over the years, he only required to defend his throne only a few times from would be invaders but his people loved him even more for this. For his ongoing strong rule as a leader and guardian, his adoration from his people, and his long journey to free his kingdom which became the stuff of legends, he was regarded more highly than the average ruler.
He was Khanuru, the Hero King of Garabaan.
Mega lore dump complete. Khanuru is just a mighty on the battlefield as he is at a royal party and he gladly serves his people not just as a king but as a protector. With his convenient mystic ability, he can be as chonky as he wants and still be ready to defend his land at a moment's notice.
I could end up writing about more specific parts of his long journey and the other allies he made but it would have made this lore dump post even more ridiculously long.
You may have also noticed another old character of mine appears here. Sharah, who was the first garchomp I made. She'll be getting an update soon enough

On thinking back to your description of Felnir's Lord of Gluttony, the eldritch creature Vohrr, it makes me wonder if he's not influencing Khanuru and Sharah, as well... I mean, he's already influencing Felnir, Cain and Akamu, and B'Gorr... I'm sure it's not too much of a stretch (albeit a sad one) if Vohrr was influencing the nice guy, too...
Vohrr's presence is just about everywhere. He has that much power and influence. Many feel it in a way that they don't really notice, even these two pokemon. It is not exactly that he is forcing them against their will, more like he's encouraging them to live a bit large, so to say.
