Hands off it.
Allright, following will be some thoughts. If you just want boobies, no need to read further.
On the previous picture of Selanine, I recieved a comment that inlcuded unsolicited slapping of bums found myself oddly peeved. Upon reflection, after I started drawing this little doodle however, I thought:
"Wait a minute. This character was created for the sole purpose of being an oversexed kinkfactory. Should you or - if she was more than a drawing - she, be angry about others expressing their thoughts about her? It's not like you can sexually harass an image of a fictional creature. Can you?"
Yeah, I overthink things sometimes. Anyway. After resolving how silly the notion of a slighted drawing was, I did connect it to the anonymous autonomy afforded by the Internet. Without consequences or any real fear of reprisal, it does allow for actions that wouldn't normally be performed so frivololusly. Ok, getting off on a tangent - I digress...
I think it's ultimately a matter of realizing the nature pf the venue within which you ply your trade and accepting the consequences of what you share. If you post nice art, you risk attracting people who will enjoy it, comment on it and even offer critisism or constructive feedback. If you post porn or explicitly sexual images (which can be nice art too), you risk attracting people who enjoy it, comment on it as behooves the picture in question.
So to top off this very silly train of thought. Should Selanine infact be angry for having her butt slapped unsolicitedly by a stranger, or should she suck it up and accept that she's basically an illustrated harlot?
Your thoughts?

My thoughts is that it depends on the situation. She may be a drawn harlot, but that does not mean she is cheap. To make an example to porn in general: Just becaurse the pornstar is slutty on the screen/photography, it dosn't mean that she is like that in real life. Ofcurse, talking about real life in this case is not ideal I know, but it dows work to illustrate my point. Is she an actual Character, or is she just an character. (notice the capital letter).
It all depends on WHAT you want her personality to be, and how much depth you seek it to have. Some artists have a colorful personality for their persona/character, with an on/off screene personality. Others just have a specefic character to screw with (Pun intended) for the sake of adulterated humor.
My point is then, it depends on how you you want her to be. Is she an harlot 24/7, or is she just very openminded, with some colorful projects on the side. Does she have this "job" where she's open for the requests for the commissioners, while still have a life on the side, for parties, lovers and other things, where she is not "a bum to be grapped - unless encuraged".
All in all, it depends on how "serious" you want her to be. (Then again, with her evil-twin sister, they may just be Yin-Yang in this regard).
.... I may be putting too much thought into this, but that's becaurse you now have the oppertunity to put more detail into her personality, if that's what you seek, that is.
I be quiet now.

I like Draco's train of thought and completely agree with what he posted. Selanine, in my experience, is a very complex fur who just so happens to enjoy sexual activities. BUT! Just because she enjoy's said activities from time to time does not mean that she should be demeaned to taking whatever sexual actions people may throw at her. My character Joy, who Sel knows and perhaps others of you may know, can be quite sexual.... however if some horny pig slaps her "merchandise" or does any number of other things to her, that doesn't mean that she takes it or hell, even responds to it (referencing to SL).
All n all hun, I think you have to accept that Sel may be a sex symbol to some, but their actions / words / etc. on the internet only have power if you react to them... I may not like how people treat Joy sometimes and, if she were real, then hell yeah she'd strike back, and cruelly too... but the best weapon in this case when your online is to either ignore their grotesque comments or disarm their sex drive with cold logic and indifference.
