A scaly warrior mage has come across an ancient parchment. Being unable to decipher the ancient, forgotten language, he casts a spell to make the writing come alive, and now watches fascinated as ghostly spirits tell him an ancient story...

The idea for this was born last week at my supervisor's team meeting. A dry erase board in the room where we were in had lots of faded writings from previous people having written on it. I made a comment about how the board needed some serious cleaning to erase all those "ghosts of ancient writings". My supervisor then said that what I just said sounded like a good title for a book. So immediately my brain goes *Bing!*

I don't think I could write a fantasy novel with that premise, so here's the next best thing. This definitely needs to be finished, so hopefully I won't get lazy. Final version would most certainly have a book instead of a parchment, and a better pose for our scaly mage. I just needed to get this out of my brain for now.
