Hey there,
I've always found the concept of anthros living among humans so fascinating, especially if the anthros themselves aren't exactly as numerous as their human counterparts. The dynamic between the two groups can make for some cool stories/situations that I feel solely anthro worlds can't entirely protray. This concept had been planned since the comic's conception and thankfully it's coming together - albeit rather slowly.
Polo isn't terrified of humans nor is his family, but the off chance being the center of attention should a conflict arise can be very scary. Being the only anthropomorphic animal in a crowd I feel could make one feel tense, regardless if no one appears to have issue with you.
However things are off to a good start, well except for a kid stopping Polo in his tracks because latching onto his tail was considered a good idea. Grateful he must be the kid's mother doesn't look too happy for that action though ha-ha. (I had fun writing the Japanese characters, props to whoever can read what it says)
I did my best to adhere some well needed advice to vary outlines around subjects in the drawings, and in my eyes it tremendously improved the look about everything. Its miles better than my previous deep outlines, and while I still like them these are far better.
Also, humans! I never draw em', and yet I'm dumbfounded I managed to draw them as presentable here. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying they're amazing, I'm just surprised they aren't as terrible looking as I thought they would be. Designing them is fun, but trying to choose colors is not. Coloring is still the hardest step I go through with drawing in my opinion. It's the last either way, and I get antsy cause I just want to finish the darn thing XD
There's more to come, especially what's soon to be seen - the special aspect of the market he's about to work for. I want to be able to get 2 panels a month some time. I'm going to be experimenting with my drawing process to hopefully speed things up without sacrificing too much.
Thank you all for reading -
Take care.

😂 Yeah if I were in his position and I had to expect stuff like that...I'd be just as nervous as him. Having been a spotter at a few fursuit parades, I feel this last panel very deeply. Best tactic is to dropkick the offending kid into the stratosphere. 😁 Works wonders. (just kidding, don't hurt children...except for those who smear icecream into the fur of the fursuiter you're spotting of course...they of course deserve to go into orbit for a while. 😋)
But I bet drawing this many hoomans must have been a pain. x3 But you toughed through it. Well done! ^^

Polo isn't one for conflict, he'd rather avoid it whenever he can but things happen whether or not you want them to. Like your tail being the object of fascination with small children XD
That's super cool you got to be a spotter, I had forgotten suiters need them at times and guiding a big doggo or cat sounds like fun. Though yes, any ice-cream needs to remain away from the fur - unless its the anthro eating said ice-cream then it's going on the face instead :D
It really was, and the practice is only going to help me in the future when I need to draw even more ha-ha.
Thank you much :)

I tried doing it the "manual" way of comparing japanese hiragani and Katakani Charts with the characters shown which worked fine to an extent...but finding the corresponding Kanji's just isn't something you can do as easily as going over the small amount of characters in other two alpabets. ^^' And only translating the hiragani parts didn't lead to a sentence that would make sense in this context so I just made a screenshot of the speechbubble and had google translate it for me. ^^'
oh, yeah. Google allows you to upload pictures with translateable words on them as well. Kinda like you nowadays can just point your mobile phone's camera at some form of written text and have it be directly translated on the fly. Otherwise I would've given up on this one. ^^' So, yay for technology.

Honestly if I saw an anthopomorfic animal walking and talking like that, I would get very very excited, but of course I would not grab the tail like that last panel xD
And Polo being stressed to be in a crowd is explainable if anthros are not very common in this situation. The hoomans look good to me :b

I would too! Having an anthro friend would be super cool, they can talk about their life experiences while also being whatever animal of your choice that can - the super important part - talk back to ya :D
He gets nervous and just wants to shy away from any potential conflict. He's had a great deal of situations he learned from and is trying to apply them here.
Oh yes, you wouldn't want to grab their tail ha-ha.
Thank you! They are difficult to draw but we're ultimately fun as it's interesting to see them next to an anthro dog.

Oh yes! They can talk about how it feels to be covered in fur and having a tail, or just anything that comes to mind jaja.
Well I think the great majority doesn't like to be in conflict so applying what he learned must be a good solution.
I wonder if more humans in the comic would react exited to see an anthro dog?

That's exactly why I like anthro side-by-side human stories, you can explore so many different things with how anthros perceive the world and what makes em' so different compared to us. You can talk about fun things and serious things, and it's funny to have a canine friend that will bark at you as a joke XD
That's exactly right, conflict is never a good thing and most want to avoid it where they can. No point in engaging in such.
Funny you say that, there's actually going to be a very excited hooman about the anthropomorphic animals and it'll be a fun experience for all ha-ha.

The world needs more stories like this! Anthros can be interesting since animals are very different to us. Some serious talk would be nice, but I would love to see barking from an anthro dog xD
Unfortunately sometimes there is no chance to avoid that, but there are ways to solve it.
Oh nice! I can't wait to see that XD

Thank you again, at times when I'm banging my head against the wall due to perspective lines not matching up, I'll need all the luck I can get.
I would love those! Any sort of affection thrown my way just causes me to melt into a puddle of satisfaction - I would be a giddy mess of fur :D
