Another one of my passions: Growing carnivorous plants. These photos are from my own collection. None of what you see are flowers. They are highly modified leaves which over time have evolved to trap and digest insects. Some of them, like sarracenia and nepenthes are passive pitfall traps - while others like pinguicula and drosera can slowly fold in on their prey. Didn't include any pics of Venus Fly Traps because most people have seen them up close and personal.
Clockwise:
Nepenthes lowii x muluensis
Sarracenia flava x purpurea
Nepenthes veitchii
Sarracenia leucophylla
Pinguicula medusina
Drosera roseana
Nepenthes (veitchii x lowii) x spectabilis

The term they use to describe the projection behind a ping's flower is the 'spur' - go fig. :)
D. medusina has it - albeit not as developed as others: http://www.cpukforum.com/forum/lofi.....hp/t36864.html

Hmmm I see. And is there where pinguicula traps insects? Looks quite little for that ^^;

I love plants though I'm more into, like, cacti and succulents (Euphorbias in particular) because I can't really provide the year round humidity that I am under the impression most carnivorous plants would need.
Is there like... a furry botany/horticulture group on FA or something.

I am not aware of one such group existing. Then again, I've not looked for one. Incidentally, not all CPs require or even like high humidity - Drosophyllum lusitanium grows in very dry environments and absolutely dislikes being soggy. There's a carnivorous plants for just about everybody. :)
