I've been collecting the new Chip n' Dale's Rescue Rangers comic and even though I only have three so far i am curious to see where it's leading, because I like how they're touching on old missions and fan favorites. I especially like that they brought in Foxglove the bat, even if they were coy about exactly what kind of relationship she and Dale may have at this time.
It reminded me of an old project I forgot about. Essentially a bit of fanfiction involving my idea of what if Chip married Gadget and Dale married Foxglove.
In the case of Dale and Foxglove they wound up with a Chipmunk/Bat fusion named Hemlock.
Personality wise, Hemlock comes across as cool and all-business. A stark contrast to his warm and loving parents. He is not meant to be 'Goth' or 'Emo' but rather he tries to distance himself from his feelings and those around him in the same way the Vulcans do on Star Trek.
A deeply sensitive soul, he at one point had to fight a cat for his life and was terrified by his own ferocity. He never told anyone about the experience but in his own teenagerish way believed there must be something very wrong with himself and does what he can to bury any feelings he has deep to protect those around him.
Of course the idea behind Hemlock would be that as the story(s) were to progress he would come to the conclusion that he blew the experience out of proportion and didn't need to go to all this trouble if he had've just TOLD someone about it.
Team-wise he's the 'Big brother', the kind of guy who while not the leader, gives others the push they need to do the task at hand.
I always have trouble getting proportions right on Disney Rodents. I keep wanting to draw them with human proportions.
What do you think, Folks?
