I didn't read the update. Heard from a friend it has to do with child porn. Is there more to the story?

Characters need to look like actual adults. The "omg but she's actually a 1000 year old vampire!" excuse doesn't fly anymore.

The problem is HOW can you make a damn Pikachu look like an adult?? An artist I follow asked a mod to verify a pic with a Pikachu and it was considered bannable (it was regular porn, not ageplay/cub in any way).

It's your right entirely and I respect that, but what then: I'm a small, thin guy irl. If I were to draw my Poochyena sona he's still be small and thin... and banned. This makes absolutely no sense to me, to ban on proportions, not context.

These are the kind of anthro artists supporting this ban, not really for what the characters look like, but more so because they personally hate adult pokemon, digimon, and cute cartoony stuff, and this is a convenient excuse to get a huge chunk of it banned. Bonus if the artists leave, less posts of pokemon and digimon.

Yeah honestly that feels like where a lot of the folks in 100% support of this (who, frankly, seem few and far between so I'm amazed it happened in the first place) are coming from. A place of just pure hatred for what they personally don't like, with no actual logical arguments to back up that feeling.

A lot of them just straight up don't like Pokemon/Digimon art to BEGIN with, but will take a ban of feral ones when really they'd like a ban of all of them. It's sickening, and sad how many artists, some of whom I've grown up being inspired by, this short-sighted rule tweak will affect.

This was never a quote-on-quote "loophole" as they put it, it's just people who don't personally like something that's entirely legal and in no way involves underage, forcing their personal opinions onto an entire userbase (and apparently banning anyone who so much as asks questions about it from the FA discord, or so I've heard.)

Considering she's got developed breasts and hips it'd be very, very unlikely that she gets ruled as a child. The new rule enforcement is more for chibi pokemon like all egg evolutions (pichu, magby, etc) or similar chibi pokemon and digimon, not things like renamon.

If it fits the chibi style of big head with big eyes and stubby limbs it's probably going to get axed.

They will be banning pretty much any depiction of 1st evo Pokemon, or small Pokemon, regardless of actual age of the character. Even my own fursona could fall under the ban and I'm a regular Poochyena. It has nothing to do with child porn. I've reached out to other artists who have checked with mods for specific violations and even Pokemon such as Pikachu were considered "bannable" depending on the style of the artist. I draw "on model" (following the official art) or "kemono/chibi" (cutesy, simplified anatomy), so yeah, there goes most of my gallery. Its more like it must be aged up, which is arguably hard to do with some normal non-anthro pokemon and a few anthro pokemon. It probably depends on the artist's style too.

They will be looking at anatomy and proportions alongside the context of the submission when determining if the submission would be found in violation or not.

Regardless, yeah this policy is ridiculous. Like...you can't have characters that are proportioned accurately to the source material or anything huh? Get ready to remove almost all nsfw starter pokémon and rookie digimon that aren't either super anthro or made to look really off-model I guess...

You might want to slightly modify that plan because they can detect alt accounts if you don't take any precautions, and you'd just start a cat and mouse game where you'd run the risk of randomly losing your new account all couple weeks.

Sadly I think so too. I love this place, I built my entire gallery, connections, friends, LIFE here. I don't wanna leave it. I won't leave it. But seeing 80% of my gallery just go poof is gonna be sad as hell. (and then there's also the logistic nightmare of deleting it all and reuploading)

They did edit this recently to say that there is no blanket ban on any species or the likes, but it'll probably still cause issues

A very famous artist with a style similar to mine (in terms of proportions) asked the staff and gave examples, and they said it was bannable due to proportions, not species itself. So we can draw an anthro bara pikachu but not an on-model pikachu.

I submitted a ticket with like, a hundred pics from my gallery asking what they think about it.

This rule is going to be the death of a lot of artists. Knocking artists on their art style is not friendly at all to the userbase

Ugh... I mean, I get why they're doing it, but I don't see how it would solve the issue in the slightest when there are plenty of alternative websites that serve the same purpose... I get that child porn is a serious issue and all, no question there... but hell, it causes more damage than it does good, IF it does ANY. This really sucks for artists of many fandoms...

Yeah, I mean... I'm all for banning child-like characters, but Pokemon cannonically don't have to evolve in order to age. And as per Argon Vile's ticket, Yoshi, Pikachu, etc all fall into the "childlike" policy due to proportions. It's hoenstly fucked up all around. I'm in shambles, FA is like my second home AND my job. I have so many friends here and I made a career here, I'm a full time artist. I really hope I'll be able to keep doing what a love in a more welcoming environment.

That's a slippery-ass slope already, because by their vague, lazy definition of what constitutes a child, many genuinely adult characters are forbidden too. Wave the Swallow, Midna, Tristana, Shantotto, Tatsumaki, Judy Hopps, Animal Crossing or Aggretsuko characters drawn accurate to the the series' artstyles, tons of characters who no longer qualify as adults by FA's warped standards because they aren't tall, busty supermodels with realistic human proportions.

Sorry, let me clarify, I'm for banning sexualized infantilized characters (i was thinking of humanized anthros mostly, sorta like loli/shota). I personally don't have a problem with them (art is art and idgaf), but I understand it poses a risk to the site itself as demonetization from payment platforms is a real thing. But they went and shot their feet off on their own so this isn't even a problem to discuss anymore hahah

Yeah, sadly I think Lef's proportions could fall into their ban. My biggest issue atm is just transfering everything to IB (I have almost 1000 files to sort , post and tag lol). But I hope we can continue working together, be it here or there! x3

i mean for my sonas i currently use (since most of them are canines) the human to k9 age.

Any NSFW art they deem "too childlike" has to be removed, sadly (even if the character is overage), and the worst part is that welll... what one mod considers bannable doesn't have to align with the others, so were at risk depending who reviews it. My sona is a Poochyena who never evolved, he's an adult but still bannable by their standards due to proportions (he's smaller than average for his species, just like I am irl).

i understand, (love your sona btw) , whats a bit worse is i do have a few sonas haven't uploaded that do have the pikachu complex (you know like Ash's pikachu where they refuse to evolve) 3 have gained everstones , and the rest of the 13 just refuse to and cancel the glow when it happens.

this whole thing where we have to "age up" considering i have no art ability... what i am hearing is if you want any nsfw material of the character your gonna have to change their design, or get a new ref sheet to make the changes easier to show to artists

Yeah I honestly didn't even consider the possibility of editing pics, it's impossible on my end as I've been working since 2016.. So all I've got left to do is take my 'yeen and his pals somewhere they'll be accepted, like Inkbunny. I'll keep this FA for bigger chars only.

Are you gonna delete all your pokemon art? It sounds to me they are banning mostly pre evolved mons. I might be wrong on that but I think fully evolved and maybe stage 2 evos wont be banable. Still a lot they'll likely ban in your gallery, but hopefully not everything

Oh no, I'll only be deleting pics with smaller mons or those I drew in a cutesy style that might confuse the mods. Bigger Pokemon or ones I drew bigger will be kept~

1. post only evolved forms and refs here, post art of my base evolution Sona and Ocs on Ib

or

2. Just move over to IB to avoid the problem (to have to "age up" or submit a ticket to get approval is going to be time consuming

or lastly

3. just purge my Gallery any art i comissioned leaving only refs and Upload to E621.

Yeah, they're considering smaller Pokemon and Digimon as cubs (even though it doesn't make any sense, Eevee for example can breed ingame, etc). It's up to you how to proceed but on my end I'll just delete everything that doesn't fit. I'll leave my FA up and running for a while to see if everyone will move. I sadly cannot afford to lose clients over a site change, so I'll keep both FA and IB for the time being.

Really hope you and others wait on this as you have until July 1st, and the backlash is increasing every day as more people find out and more realise it doesn't just hit pokemon and digimon. Hope you read my comment below, too. It's long, yeah, but it would suck to you and your fans if you did this and FA ended up pulling out, like they did on banning feral, losing years of pics, comments, etc. Already lost almost 2 decades of great posts from many others, while many more are fighting back.

I think you shouldn't just give up so quick. You're far from alone, I've been reading journals of artists all over. There are tens of thousands of artists and their fans, millions of images since 2006 that would be hit by this subjective BS policy change. You should all talk to eachother and band together and resist. They are essentially implying that drawing fictional cute style chibi/small/kobold/imp body type animal or other fictional characters in adult situations is child porn and causes real life pedos to go hurt real life children, and that you are one of them if you draw or like them, it's extremely insulting.

Giving up and letting them win won't be the end of it, either, and would only affirm to FA and these mostly anthro artists pushing this change that drawing cute style cartoon animals etc. in adult situations == CP. And forcing you to post your stuff alongside actual cub art would just validate them.

My apologies for this rant, but their reasoning is as BS as "video games cause violence," or stating that posting gore, blood, vore, death and other violent stuff causes people to go out and beat or kill people or animals in real life, and the artists are just like them. Their "protecting minors" excuse falls apart the moment you realise they allow 13 year olds on FA, and are OK with posting a pregnant human 13 year old girl transformed into an eevee getting vored.

If they applied this subjective standard to everything, then all cute femboy teenage body type anthro art would be subjectively underage because you decided they look like they are. All pony characters would be by description "ponies", adolescent kid horses, and you could equally decide any character of any species in less-cute styles looks like a child for their species just because they are small or cute looking and you decide it is, regardless of how old the artist states their feral dragon or anthro petite fairy cat is, based on what you decide a child's body looks like for them.

Last, the charge against this stuff is mostly led by the same kind of bitchy anthro artists like the one above that've had a hate-on for mostly pokemon and digimon and other small cartoon character NSFW art since over a decade ago, when they complained that it hurts their image as "serious" anthro furry artists being next to cute cartoony sex stuff. Is it a wonder they specifically named pokemon and digimon?

Please wait a bit, there's over a month left, and I bdlieve they had some 90 day compliance deal after July 1st, too. This is more BS than their attempt to ban feral art over beastiality complaints (by the same people), and with how many artists and fans they've pissed off and insulted, the backlash will likely cause it to fail the same way the feral ban did. Talk to others and spread the word, fight to not be lumped in with actual real life pedos just because your characters are small or cute.

I mind end up waiting more due to irl circumstances (can't waste time on this BS anymore than I already did by having to reup my entire gallery elsewhere). I honestly don't think they'll backtrack and there's no telling when we'll be facing some other shitty policy in the future for no reason whatsoever, like this one. I do plan on continuing with my FA but I'm doing my best to move my activity somewhere else as I don't feel they (the team) value my sort of art here.
