These two, most certainly love each other. But given their up bringing's with the whole species vs species thing, its hard for them to accept it. And often they avoid public acts of affection to avoid ridicule that they think will happen to them.

But they are trying to learn to change, given they've moved away from their home.

This piece depicts the couple doing one of their favorite things, piggy back rides, given Fara's small stature due to her being a parrotlet she can rather easily stand on Whiskers' shoulders, and thankfully due to His agility, he doesn't immediately fall over and can keep balance with her like that.
