Thing the Synx, the end result of a decades-long experiment by an unnamed doctor who sought to make a harmless companion pet out of what's normally a predatory nightmare of a creature. He's as close to complete as they got before the doctor succumbed to old age, their lab and research lost to the depths of an ancient forest on a backwater planet. He now roams worlds, harmlessly lurking in settlements and eventually somewhat integrating into communities that don't try to drive him away. Being effectively immortal between his lack of ageing and a supernatural healing ability, he tends to settle in for several generations at a time before moving onto the next one to make fresh memories and new friends.
