Razi forgot one major detail about gazing deeply into the dark, lonely abyss lurking in the depths between the stars. That black, haunting void hidden so far out of our reach, where no light presides. She forgot that connecting to that and peering in can leave whatever hides in the darkness to peer right back!
So, this is actually a little bit of aesthetic tied closely into Razi's lore and character design. Her family is from a sect known as Starscales, those who believe that some of their ancestors were touched by the stars and left with an imprint of truths deep in the universe. Many think of the guiding light of the stars in terms of navigation, but so too can the universe speak through what isn't as bright, isn't as known. Razi, channeling some of this over her life, slowly ends up with a sort of eldritch insight and corruption... well, we'll see how it manifests when I try to write actual stories with her lmao
