The race for this short story are known as the Motto, a giant moth-like insectoid race with natural bioluminescence along certain points of their body, their wings and most of their insides. These areas will change color based on the the current emotion for the motto before defaulting to a color relatively unique for each Motto. Males tend to be 50 feet tall with Motto Queens (females) being closer to around 70 feet tall. They have four mandibles that fit neatly together to make a smooth ovaloid appearance of the face and have large solid colored eyes that are not compound in any way. They have a pair of dominant arms with a pair of smaller sub limbs beneath the first pair which aren't as strong as the primary pair but more than capable of holding onto a tiny human. The Motto are an alien species and their original concept is from the creative mind of  Wdw

For May 20th, the writing prompt was 'Bug Catcher - From the perspective of the bugs' and the theme was 'Ear'.
