Sakurajima is an active stratovolcano located on the island of the same name in Kagoshima Bay, Japan. It consists of a post-caldera cone that formed after the collapse of the ancient caldera of Aira and its eruptions are usually of large proportions, because plumes of smoke containing ash are very frequent in Sakurajima, but due to its geographical location, Sakurajima during the Most of its eruptions do not cause deaths.
