This commission is my response to "Another Mashup Sketch" by Tsampikos roughly three and a half months ago. In Tsampikos's work, Mewtwo was being assimilated, and his body destroyed, by a species known as "The Minions" from a game called Ascendancy. I was fairly strong in my insistence that Mewtwo would not allow this to happen; Mewtwo has psychic abilities strong enough to not only foresee events, but create a hurricane powerful enough to destroy the world and turn back time itself (if you consider Mewtwo Strikes Back as proper canon, and I see no reason why it shouldn't be.) Having said that, there's no reason he would not be able to see this coming and prevent it.
The Minions have been defeated many times in the past; the basic idea is that if they were stopped before reaching a planet, the technology they were made up of is unremarkable enough that it could be easily destroyed. What you are seeing here is Mewtwo doing just that - having had a premonition of the Minions' conquering of Earth and cutting it off at the pass. He's seen here ready to destroy the last of their forces, saving the Earth from their control.
I would like to thank Vaporeon249 for taking on this project so that I may feel at peace with the existence of the original pair of art pieces, having spoken my mind through the form of these commissions. She's an outright STEAL as far as quality vs. price goes - go commission her now!

Whether it's hard or not isn't the issue - it's disputing the theme behind the artwork that this commission is replying to, with equal or greater artwork that has a chance of nudging people towards the mindset of "Mewtwo could deal with that" rather than "Mewtwo would be taken over by them" that Tsampikos's work suggested.
Well, maybe there are things that not even Mewtwo could handle? Hell, even Arceus isn't allmighty in game, and was beatable.
I just think you're overconcern too much with Mewtwo's supposedly image and actually make Mewtwo fans or Mewtwo himself look worse by your actions of feverently defending something that needs no defense. Even without your crusade, most depictions already show him in favorable positions, so that even if somebody would draw him as total pussy it wouldn't matter.
Besides, a bit of different angle view on him doesn't hurt much. It never hurted any char to be shown in a different light. It would prevent, for example, Mewtwo looking like an allmighty, overpowered mary sue, with no imperfections, who is pretty much a rapist and homicidal/genocidal savage, who'll make your head explode if you look at him funny, even if he is wronging you and you just want to point that out to him. Incidently, thats kind of the way your commissions picture Mewtwo as. Not very favorable if you ask me.
And this isn't a question of me disliking Mewtwo, because I don't. What I dislike is the abovementioned depiction of him or people who defend something imaginery with such a fanaticism that even living persons shouldn't be defended with.

While I do realize that there are things outside of Mewtwo's control (he's not infalliable, Deoxys could take him in a fight, Arceus with the right plates would most likely take him, etc, etc.) I wouldn't be doing my duty as a fan if I saw the "best" pic on FA or DA having him in a negative spot and didn't try to get something even better done with him on top.
While I do realize that I go pretty damn far in defending Mewtwo (and will continue to do so until the end of time or until Mewtwo is playable in the next Smash title, whichever occurs first) I think you may be mistaken on a couple of things.

I'm not so sure.
Search Mewtwo by relevancy, ignore anything I've commissioned. The highest quality works within the first 60 results include Mewtwo being fucked by a Rapidash with it being debatable whether or not it's willing, a 63-page vore comic at the end of which Mewtwo finds that he's been Master Ball'd (even though the Trainer has mentioned he means no ill will towards Mewtwo.)
Search Mewtwo by popularity, ignore anything I've commissioned. The absolute top result of a picture of Mewtwo is Narse's, which I've already commented on and replied to a comment of yours on. The rest seem to be a fair mix of dom and sub so your argument may have some weight there.
My commissions generally do show Mewtwos as being overpowered...generally because in any canon demonstration of his ablities, he IS overpowered. He's in "uber" in tier-lists as far as the video games go for a reason.
It wouldn't make sense if I were to commission...say, a Charizard beating the shit out of a bunch of Blastoise, but everything I've shown Mewtwo on top in has made sense and I've gone through each situation logically to demonstrate. The Mewtwo > Scrafty/Zuruzukin pic...Mewtwo has the speed advantage, Aura Sphere's fighting-type and is supereffective against Scrafty's Dark-type. This picture and the other response piece - it was clarified in the description of how the Minions worked that they've been beaten many times when they haven't been allowed to reach Earth, and Tsampikos himself mentioned an idea of an alternate ending where Mewtwo overtook the hivemind by being connected to it.
So...yeah, I'm a fanatic, and I realize that, but I'm still going to commission stuff I feel there's a need for.

Typically I'm responding in kind to what insulted Mewtwo in the first place. Someone shows Mewtwo being killed, I have him killing. Someone does up Mewtwo being raped, he turns the tables. I prefer to keep responses in line with the initial "offending" content.
