Following their first encounter at a local diner, two bats enter a friendship in the process of getting to know each other.

Bat Friendship

Following their encounter and first meeting, Athena and Chocolate Drizzle share a light meal and drink together during their little chat at the small diner. During this time, the two engage in conversation with each other about small things regarding each other.

"Do you come here often? I've never seen you here before." Drizzle began to engage in conversation with Athena just to learn more about her. But the female bat only giggles at the question and responds, "This is my first time here, actually. I just decided to check it out to see if they had any tea here. In fact, I dropped by here after a flying session!"

Cue a red question mark and exclamation mark simultaneously appearing together above Drizzle's head, coupled with his eyes widening in surprise. He recovers soon after and presses her out of intrigue, "You fly? Like naturally? That must be one of your hobbies, then! I've never seen you in action before!"

"It's pretty simple, really; just spread your wings and lift off!" Athena cheekily responded. Even more impressed, Drizzle observes, "One day you'll have to take me in the sky with you - literally - so I can keep up with you. You also look like a fast flyer too."

"Depends on the wind too. Now stop making me blush!" Athena sticks her tongue out at the male bat before her in teasing, to which he remarks, "I never told you that you are beautiful, haven't I? Well you are."

Turning into a strawberry, Athena hides her heated face while remarking, "And you're quite the charmer!"

Drizzle only shrugs his shoulders in return while remarking, "What can I say? I can't help it upon seeing a beautiful lady before me, one especially as yourself."

"What brings you here to this diner? It can't be other than the sights, can it?" Athena attempts to change the subject, which works in her favor.

"Came here during break to cool off and refresh." Drizzle replies, nonchalant. "What about you, Athena?"

"Just checking the place out after flying around. I was hoping to catch a tea break." Athena sighs and deflates mildly in her seat where she squeaks in complaint, "I have nothing."

"Oh, you're a tea drinker! Say, do you have any tea at home, at least? That way, you won't have to worry about wasting money." Drizzle notices Athena shaking her head when the chocolate bat raises his hand to silence her. To compensate, he offers, "How about I buy you something and we go from there?"

"Oooohhhh, sounds good! Thanks, Drizzle!" Athena straightens right back up after accepting Drizzle's offer.

Following their small break, Drizzle and Athena walk along a small trail following their departure from the small diner they exited out of. The duo begin talking more during their walk, and Drizzle directs Athena to a local park where they can spend more time getting to know each other more.

When the topic of their conversation hits flowers with Drizzle revealing his occupation as a florist, Athena sparkles in delight, "I never knew you liked flowers, Drizzle! How many bouquets and arrangements have you made so far??"

Drizzle laughs nervously while rubbing his head in admittance, "Well, it depends on the occasion. I mostly cover weddings, special occasions, showers, things like that. And I also get weird looks from some of my clients over my silly job as a florist."

Athena scoffs condescendingly and retorts in understanding, "You're a florist and like flowers, so what? That's like a girl saying she's into racing. It doesn't matter what you like as is typical for your gender - you're you and that's all that matters!"

Drizzle blushes, turning completely and fully strawberry in the whole face. Agreeing in realization, the brown male draws a shaky breath, "Thank you, Athena. That is actually the first thing someone has said about me in a positive light this whole time. Those derogatory comments have really left me blue."

"Drizzle, if you point out the people that said those things, I will knock them out." Athena punches her palm and even cracks her knuckles to emphasize her point. She then hugs Drizzle to show her support, even resting on his shoulder.

"Ah, someone will see us!" Drizzle grows scared with Athena snuggling him in plain view and he attempts to shake her off, only for the female bat to tighten her hold on him. Finally, Drizzle gives up and flops on Athena, placing a hand atop her head while blushing furiously. He sighs and inwardly wonders to himself, 'Where am I going with this?'

In that moment, Drizzle feels his heart literally skip a beat with a mild jump where he trails his eyes over to the female snuggling him. He hums softly in contemplation and inwardly muses, 'These feelings, where are they coming from? It's like I'm immediately drawn to her! Athena and I can't be drawn that fast - will it take time?? I don't know about this but I'm starting to like her already!'
