Avy has been needing an update to her ref for a good while now and while I was at it I figured I'd design a new casual outfit for her ^^
And this time I'm also giving her the full ref post treatment I've been giving the new characters! (I do need to go back and fix that for Niikalei's recent one, but I may do what I did here and design a new outfit for her and a new post)
Even finally came up with a last name for Avy, Kyth, and Puszeky!
Name : Avy Soomtawe
Title : Goddess of Mischief (except for Tuesdays) / Apprentice Goddess of (Mischievous) Hugs
Species : Weavile
Size : Base - 3' ; Max - ~6,000 miles
Personality : Mischievous, teasing, casual, impish
Relations :
- Adopted foster daughter of Kyth
- Niece of Puszeky
- Friends with Trorse and borrows "Goddess of Mischief" title from her when she's not using it
Abilities :
- Mass Redistribution -
Thanks to her ascension to Nephilim Tier, Avy has the ability to redistribute the mass of her body to various effects. For example, with a thought she can redirect her mass from her overall size instead into chest size, hips, belly, limb length, muscle mass, or even into a "pocket dimension" of sorts to allow herself to shrink down in size without leaving herself wildly out of proportion. She can use this ability to give herself a "boob bed", a lithe hyper tall build, massive muscles to lose herself in... If she can imagine a redistribution of mass in her body, she can do it.
There are, however, restrictions to Avy's Mass Redistribution ability. The primary restriction being that there is only a certain amount of mass she has available to redistribute. Her ascension led to a great deal of extra mass available to her, but there is still only so much. This amount being roughly equivalent to allowing her to achieve around 6,000 miles in height while maintaining the figure she had as a mortal. Avy wishes to find ways to increase her reserves, but as of yet has not found a way to do so.
Background :
Growing up, Avy was something of a delinquent. Pulling pranks, getting into trouble, being mischievous, and generally just acting impish. This continued until her mid-teens when she attempted to pull a prank on Kyth, who at the time was an accomplished and successful jeweler. Unfortunately for Avy, she ended up getting caught in Kyth's massive head of hair while attempting to pull off her prank. Kyth's reaction was simply to chuckle and pull Avy out of her hair and into a big hug before setting Avy down again and telling her nice try, but she shouldn't be quite so ready to prank people.
This was a new experience for Avy as everyone she had ever attempted to prank had always been more annoyed than anything else. But here was this floofy Zoroark not only being unphased by the prank attempt, but responding with a hug and kindness. Unsure of how she felt about this, Avy chose to try again to prank Kyth. And again. And again. And again. Despite her skill as an impish prankster, she somehow was never able to succeed against Kyth and Kyth's reaction was always to respond with a hug and kindness and even sometimes advice.
After a dozen attempts, though, Avy at last managed to prank Kyth. A classic bucket of water over a doorframe gag, but worked like a charm. But once again Avy was utterly flummoxed by Kyth's reaction. Kyth immediately recognized what had happened and who was responsible, of course, but rather than getting angry or annoyed she found where she heard Avy snickering from and just picked her up in the her biggest (and very wet) hug yet and happily congratulated Avy on finally managing to successfully prank her. This wasn't just a new experience, but a curious new feeling for Avy too that someone was actually happy for her. Living on her own for so much of her brief life so far, Avy had never really known what it was like to have someone supporting her.
One thing led to another and before long Avy became Kyth's foster daughter and a-couple short years later Kyth officially adopted Avy as her daughter. Avy learned from Kyth both how to not be quite so much of a impish prankster (while encouraging her to still embrace that side of herself, just not quite as heavily pranking random people) and even began teaching Avy the jeweler's craft. While Avy wasn't the natural that Kyth was, she still proved herself adept at the craft and managed to be a more than capable assistant.
Around ten years after adopting Avy, Kyth came into possession of a trio of curious gemstones. Curious for several reasons. They were rough like they had been cracked apart, yet they also had sides that looked like they once may have been refined and crafted into cleaner shape. They also also glowed with enough light the glow could be seen even in daylight. Lastly, there was something about them that felt oddly... ancient. A feeling neither Kyth nor Avy could explain. Regardless, Kyth saw in these an opportunity to make some very impressive new jewelry and gifts.
Kyth decided to send the orangish one to her old friend who also had helped her with setting up her business especially in the on-line spaces. She sent the gemstone to the Absol as-is, knowing that she'd appreciate its odd "rough but refined" look. She then crafted the green gemstone into a trio of hairbeads for herself and used what was left over from the crafting and refining process to add extra sparkle and glow to bright blue hairbeads she had been working on for her sister. Finally, the pinkish almost red gemstone Kyth made into a necklace for her adopted daughter. Smoothing out the sharpest and roughest edges, but still keeping the rough look. Mirroring how Avy had grown from when the two first met and the smoothing out of her own roughest and sharpest edges while still being true to herself.
Not too long after these gemstones were crafted and delivered, many unexpected things began to happen. Kyth, Puszeky, Avy, Ynaa, and even the Helioptile who Kyth so often worked with to deliver her creations all experienced varying levels of apotheosis. Each of them rising to what they would eventually learn was called the "Nephilim Tier" and then with Kyth and Ynaa not too much later ascending quickly to Demideity and Deity Tiers (and Ynaa then faaaaaaaaaaaaar beyond). What none of them had been aware of was that these gemstones were in fact Shards of Iridalea's sword that had splintered off of it many many MANY millenia prior and were all infused with power of a curious sort. Power that seeped into each of them.
As each of them learned of their new place in the universe and new things they were capable of, they also all had to figure out what to do now. Avy learned quickly what she could do and happily indulged in her new ability to redistribute her mass, learning too that she could also be one heck of a tease for too. Respectfully, though! With Kyth becoming the Goddess of HUGS, though, Avy also became an apprentice Goddess of Hugs. Liking to call herself the Apprentice Goddess of Mischievous Hugs, though. A role for her while she worked on figuring out who she wants to be now.
With Trorse returning again after her own surprise ascension and being the "Goddess of Chaos, Variability, Change, Mischief, and Whatever Feels Right at the Moment", though, Avy found a new possibility. Chatting up Trorse and becoming quick pals with their mutual love for Mischief, Avy convinced Trorse to let her borrow the title of "Goddess of Mischief" from Trorse. So now Avy is both apprentice Goddess of (Mischievous) Hugs and Goddess of Mischief (except on Tuesdays when Trorse needs that title back). Representing and encouraging playful mischief wherever she goes and indulging in the impish prankster she still is deep down and which Kyth always encouraged her to continue to embrace.
And there's Avy not only with an updated ref but with her backstory and details all written out too!
Tried to get some more of the details better defined after all this time and because of how many things have shifted over time ^^;
As for Avy's new outfit, I've been wanting to give her a more casual outfit for a-while now while also keeping some fanciness to it and this seemed like a great opportunity to finally do that!
