A quote from FFXIV's latest patch, patch 6.4: The Dark Throne, that stuck with me heavily after I finished the story. The sinister glow of the thirteenth's red moon framing a shadowed Zero as she answer's Y'shtola's inquiry definitely had influence on the color palette here. I chose to start with a warm pinkish-red underpainting so everything would have that crimson haze to it
the lineart was done with a dip pen and speedball super black ink, which, I've come to learn is NOT the greeeatest ink for watercolor? lol
the slight bleeding seemed to add to the grim coloration though, so it gets a pass lol
