Meet Julian Hassan, the character I'm playing in a pen&paper RP group hosted by my fiancé  dreamandnightmare

The roleplaying game is called "Mythpunk", which uses the mechanic of "Powered by the Apocalypse" (or PbtA for short) but is set in a world that I created, where cyberpunk meets mythological creatures.

Julian is a horus bird, a myth race hailing from Ancient Egypt, where they lived as pharaohs and high government officials, living a privileged life of ruling over humans and anubites, at least until the Greeks arrived under the leadership of a centaur named Alexander the Great, who disposed of the pharaoh, but still allowed horus birds to serve in administration.
Nowadays most horus birds are still found on the higher levels of society, often working as doctors, scientists or serving as politicians.
Julian himself is the only member of his family who didn't attend university, but signed up for the police academy right after high school. He is the first magic user in his family since two generations and got to go to special classes to hone his skill. After graduating from the academy, he worked in drugs investigation until a personal tragedy hit him and he quit the force to become a private investigator.
Julian as a mechanical arm, but it doesn't hinder his use of magic. More problematic are the alhocol and smoking problems he has to deal with.


While creating the character, visually I was heavily inspired by this picture drawn by the artist  aledonrex, which I though is a very cool character. Please give that submission some love as well! :3
