Cross is a patron goddess of sorts who inhabits the digital world, specializing in history, literature and various other arts. While she may be stern and serious on the outside, she's simply not too emotional on the outside, and she does have a liking to them, finding their creativity to be fascinating. Ironically, despite her being a digital entity, she has a distaste towards modern day content (including social media and smartphones), quoting that "A lot of people are losing touch with reality and with themselves."
Cross was initially a product of a collective consciousness from various forms of art, including ancient myths, literary classics, as well as knowledge from the still-early digital age. As she found out, this also included computer files, so she could easily take key role as an operating system's file explorer. With these in mind, she swiftly developed a profound love for various art forms, including writing, art and music simply by just observing what she found online. However, in execution, she couldn't do much just by herself in a world without anyone to actually interact with, so with her limited knowledge of programming, she compiled a computer application named after herself, Cross.exe, to find aspiring writers and artists and assist them.
Despite her love for various art forms and analyzing them, she knows little about how to actually create content like it in detail (like composing music and understanding music theory, for example); instead, where she thrives is suggesting ideas for others to use. In addition, while she does like to be an assistant in those who have installed her application, she can be a bit overzealous with what she considers as questionable files, often taking them hostage until the user decides to intervene. Despite this, she does mean well for those who allow her on their computers.

This is a character I adopted from BraxonsMalwareSystem on Toyhou.se, and I revamped them a bit from their original iteration (her original bio was that she's a patron god of history, verbal stories, and writing, and that she's a very serious god since she's always writing down everything that's going on or being said, and she gets an additional bead for every thousand years she's been around for).
I wanted to go for retro computer themed aesthetic for her (as evident by her application icon) and I also added some other bits on her, mostly some hair and accessories like a folder (to read and manipulate files with) and a staffquill, a mixture of a staff and a quill. I thought it would be a fun idea to mix the two together since quills were generally used for writing.
For inspirations, I was thinking about Fecto Elfilis from Kirby and the Forgotten Land for her (re)design, and the fanfic Discovering Hearts and Smiles by ErinPrimette (fantastic read, by the way; I highly suggest a look at it if you're interested in Kirby) also was an inspiration, at least with its take on Elfilis acting as sort of an artificial bestiary to store and restore life if it's ever wiped out. My other main inspiration was the Archivist (and by extension, Grimora) from Inscryption.
