I was about to ask him what the big deal was while he was clenching his shoulder, but he spoke up first.
It was broken english but understandable.
"Please... wives gone... in danger... slavery... ransom."
It took me a while to put the pieces together. I lowered my gun and asked him if that was the reason why they were robbing the bank.
He nodded.
I took a deep breath before holstering my guns and kneeling down to him. I somewhat believed him. I offered him my help and asked him where his tribe is located.
He said that he can show me the way. So I helped him on my back before we went on our way.
While I ran, he pointed at which orientation point of his I had to turn while also gently pressing his legs into my flanks of the corresponding direction. I guess that what they learn when learning to ride, so I just took it.
The sun was about to disappear under the horizon soon when we finally saw a group of tents in the distance.
As we came closer to the camp, I slowed down to a trot while approaching. As we reached the campsite, I slowed down to a walk while tribesmen started to approch me. I raised my hands slightly to indicate my peaceful intentions. When looking to my right, I saw someone approaching I didn't expect at all.
He was the same as me. But shorter and leaner than me. His coat fits those of some of the horses nearby, and his entire body is covered in war paint and indian symbols. His hair was reduced to a mohawk, which fluently transitions into his black mane.
He had his right hand on the tomahawk on the right side of his hip and held out his other hand towards me, indicating me to stop. Which I did.
He asked me what I want and why a wounded tribesman is on my back. Before I could say something, said wounded one spoke up in their native tongue.
My kinsman walked to him and responded rather angrily. While they were arguing, he looked between me and him.
After a while, my kinsman ordered some of the tribesmen to take him to one of the tents while ordering me to follow him to the biggest one, which could only be the chief's tent.
He ordered me to wait outside while he was gonna talk to his chief. While waiting, I got crowded by some of the tribe's children. They probably didn't expect to see another one like their four-legged friend.
Said one came back out of the tent, causing the kids to disband and go away.
He told me to follow him into his tent so the two of us can talk in private.
He introduced himself as Thunderhoof, which is the english translation of his name.
He told me that his wounded friend ignored the orders of the chief himself and talked the other dead two into robbing the bank to get enough ransom.
He also told me that he talked to the chief as he sees the key for the rescue of the women in me. The chief agreed and gave his consent.
So, while the two of us were sitting there, Thunderhoof told me the plan he thought out.
