(UPDATED Feb 29, 2016 to a larger and shinier version)
I took a break from working on commissions to draw something for a friend of mine who moved away today. He introduced me to a sweet animation from the 80's called "Rock & Rule". If you have the means, I'd check it out.

I drew him and his girlfriend as the two main characters from the film singing together. Again, this movie is very cool and I'm surprised I've never heard about it from anyone in the fandom until this year.
Anywho, here's a link to his page here, too.

I've been friends with Grey for years, he's a real good guy and has a lot of talent. Please check his stuff out!

oh my god :O Someone else that knows about this movie! Whoa!
Yeah. A fun little film. Honestly, I wasn't as fond of the music as I could've been, and this is someone that like's 80's music.
Cool rendition though, didn't know Grey had gotten himself a gal pal. Congrats to him :) No wonder I haven't seen him on, between her and work.

*giggles* Very cool. To me Lou Reed as Mok is just like David Bowie as the Goblin King...just this delicious performance and persona.
For me, the music is stuck in my head all the time...granted it isn't perfect, but it has that undefinable something.
Grey tends to keep everything about himself very low key and hush hush. Though I won't speak as if I know exactly every word in his head, he's just very concerned about his private life and professional career. I don't blame him one bit either. I'm very proud of him and his accomplishments, but those aside I'm still proud of him as a friend.

Yeah, it definitely had a unique quality to it. I just expected the song that saved the world to be a little more.. I dunno, active. I suppose I went in expecting more metalish, like, well, Heavy metal.
As for Grey, I recall he mentioned a girl a while back, I've just literally seen neither hide nor hair of him. But yeah, I know his career and life are important, he does a lot of serious work. Good for him though, for how hard he works he deserves great things :)

Oooo! I'll be honest. I really wanted to bitch-slap that dude ALL through the movie for being a whiny emo twat! *grin* That thing did have a few things going for it... first off, the bad guy being played by Iggy Pop (AKA: God) and the animation done by Ralph Bakshi (AKA: Minor deity)
I love that movie! I got the mega-keen special edition off of Amazon the moment I learned there was one.
For me it was very "The Music of Erich Zahn" by H.P. Lovecraft. True, not even close to a direct analogue, but just the idea that music played just right could open a portal and summon a greater diety from the void. I can dig it.

Ive always loved the work that animation studio came up with, quite distinctive work.

I saw that years ago, along with the other animation that comes with it "The Devil and Daniel Mouse". There was another show that had that movie I just mentioned called Animated Ink. I just found a VHS copy of Animated Ink with that movie (again the one I mentioned) along with a couple other animations. And turns out the one I have is just the first in a series. I hope to purchas Rock N Rule, even though I'd prefer it to be on VHS, as well as find some of the other Animated Ink volumes.
