Day after day
alone on a hill,
a dog with a foolish grin
is keeping perfectly still.
This is for the back cover of Heat Vol. 4, to be published this summer by Sofawolf (www.sofawolf.com).
Fluke (who's doing the front cover for the issue) is also doing something "classic travel poster-esque."
It's the kind of setting Chance was made for, in my opinion. :]

Is it your goal to make nearly every other artist here feel inadequate and at the same time love you for doing it? ;) Just teasing. I love this piece. The dog being so much in the background and looking away ends up making him more center stage than the silly sheep about to wander off the canvas.
Mmmmmmh, great drawing, indeed! I instantly thought that it fits perfectly to http://www.furaffinity.net/view/125458/ :) Very good work!
And nobody seems to like him, they know what he wants to do, and he never shows his feelings...
I love this song. This album and the movie Yellow Submarine made me love the Beatles, And then I started listening to the rest now I'm a Beatles freak. Good picture too, haha.

Heheh I really like this pic, especially the symbolism of the wolf watching over the sheep. Often people like to try and portray shepherd as a guardian, protecting sheep of evil wolves. When in fact they are no different than the wolf, they merely protect the sheep to prepare them for their own slaughter. Even sheep raised for wool meet the same end in their old age. So in many ways the shepherd meets the common image of the wolf more than the wolf itself.
Symbolism aside the picture is very well done artistically. The clouds, mountain range, shadows, and grasses all paint such a tranquil image. Would love to sit under that tree and feel a cool breeze, and watch it blow across all the grasses. Also really liked the fact that you actually took the time to shadow in the spots caused from the clouds, this is an effect you very rarely see.
