it's a 75mm recoilless rifle. If it'll brew up a German mark IV from the front, and a Panther or Tiger from the rear, an SUV armored to withstand rifle-caliber ammo will pop like a zit.

Quite so. The 75-mm recoilless was an effective anti-armor and anti-personnel weapon (but you had to step lively - don't stand behind it when it fires). It was normally jeep-mounted, as I recall, but the French chose Vespas because of their light weight for paratroop operations.

the 106mms were (actually 105mm tube, but referred to as the 106 to avoid confusion with the 105mm howitzer) carried by jeep, but the 75mm were light enough to be man-portable, even if a bit on the weighty side for the job.

You know the funny part? I believe you Elkit... I came across this cannon carrying scooter while doing some wikipedia and general net surfing regarding bazookas and recoilless rifles for my own Uchuu Senkan Yamato themed space cruisers.

I still can't get over the fact that it's real and the French actually considered using them? XDDD

Actually if ya' remember Zordar's Comet Palace had that giant black dreadnought inside it after the outsides fell apart from Yamato's shooting after the reactor was bombed out by Knox? The black ship had a big wavemotion bazooka on it... pardon no... Magna-Bazooka!

Being that I'm something of a fangirl of Leiji's works including Yamato amoung others, I build my own fan based ships in Google's SketchUp 3D program, and gave my own ship for my fictional husband, a giant MagnaFlame/Wavemotion recoilless rifle much like the one that dropped down the bottom of Zordar's black ship after shooting up the Yamato near the end of the series.

Ours works much the same way. Our reveres engineered Magna-drive engines primes the tachyon manifold much the same way, then ejects a blast of tachyons out the muzzle and venturi in back much the same way as Zordar's bazooka.

The big difference with ours is that we've gone ahead and added an improved Desslok type "Smite" system to teleport our blasts down range much like the Comet Battleship Medaruusa (MagnaFlame ship) did in the battle of Cassini gap. XDDDD

Well, hell, that's cool; my Lowchan character is the pilot of the TCS Musashi, which was the Yamato's stunt double until they finished the original animated movies, and then purchased by the Temporal Corps and refitted with various timedrives.
