Alright, Your work in general is phenomenal and top tier! Whether it's your maws or your narrative pieces. And forgive me if this sounds rude, but this one seems like you put some extra detailing into this one.
All the textures you've put into the all of the mouth and even outside of the mouth are mind blowing! The Nose looks rough, but wet. The lips/jowls as well as the inner cheeks (sorry I don't actually know what that's called) have a very enjoyable flesh texture, emphasized by the highlights. But the tongue surface texture actually looks really rough to the touch while the rim and underside looks smooth. I think you also have two types of saliva on the the really thick slime running down the middle. and the lighter on the surface mixing well with the rough texture. As well as the bubbles, the larger ones having both a highlight but maybe also a reflection of the thick saliva? It's hard to tell but it almost looks like there is a bit of a color distortion/hue shift caused by the bubble in the far back of the mouth. Also! the little detail of the tongue pushing up over the teeth causing some saliva to be pushed over the teeth line and run down the front of them is a really great touch! Another great detail is with only other place you see the saliva pooling (and escaping) other then the tongue furrow is between the lips and teeth. I don't really know how to explain it, but the way you did it there is probably one of the best I've seen of that kind of detail. Last point of design I want to talk about, is how you have many thick and obvious stringers in the maw. But they're not overwhelming or distracting. I can look are your work and see only saliva everywhere. Its a very nice balance you've produced.
A very beautiful piece. Sorry for the long gush.
