Months ago. I got to see the trailer for the third volume of Guardians of the Galaxy on the big screen! And I will never forget that for about a quarter of a millisecond. I see a snippet of Rocket hugging an otter. And that scene might just as well have been a siren beckoning me to watch this flick. And what a flick it was. It has made an incredible impression.
I've come to discover new things about myself and why I am the way I am. I used to fixate on movies as a kid. It brought me so much joy. Yet as I grew older, I felt this need to suppress it. As somehow I thought that it wasn't ''normal''. Yet this time, something special happened. I accepted it. And I let myself enjoy to the fullest how much of an emotional rollercoaster these characters represent. And how fantastic it feels to let myself be me.
Go see it. As a member of the feels department, it gets the biggest, tear-soaked stamp of approval

I felt the same way with the first, how it just felt like I could let go and let my emotions breathe. This movie continuing that and making me feel the full ugliness, beauty, and triumph of Rocket's life was cathartic. Thanks a ton for sharing this piece, it's beautiful and makes me smile.
I love to hear about your story with movies and how you excepted your joy in the movie! It's difficult now days to not see a movie and just enjoy it without the flurry of critique and comments online. Sometimes it's fun to just relax and enjoy something fully.
This image is so adorable and you really did them justice. I know I was cryin during this scene.
Thanks for making this fanart and sharing your story :D

You can shun the needless sad retcons done to these characters in the Guardians of the Galaxy films if you only read these 4 issues from 1985, where their first portrayals are, where there is no High Evolutionary and Lylla is never killed before her romance with Rocket could blossom, which is explicitly demonstrated throughout the little row:
1st issue: “Rocket Raccoon”
