An experiment with shading. Looks kind of ridiculous with my style of drawing, but it never hurts to try something new, huh? I also wanted to practice SAURS because, uh... Ivan and I may or may not be aspiring to collab on a SAUR picture. :B
This is Odin, Roswell's Venusaur, as a baby. Odin got his name because of the spot around his eye; it reminded Ros of an eyepatch, and Odin has one eye so... that's his name. Surprisingly, that one splotch has persisted all the way to his Venusaur stage, despite the fact Venusaurs have no spots.
He's extremely intelligent, if ill-tempered. He's slow, solitary, quiet, and doesn't have much patience for bullshit. When it comes to fighting, he's an all-out offensive attacker, believing that anything that doesn't do damage is just a waste of time.
Ros tried teaching him Leech Seed once. And Sleep Powder. Needless to say, Odin just kind of stared at her angrily until she settled for Energy Ball and Sludge Bomb.

HE IS THE LEAST HAPPY BULBASAUR, EVER. Man, comparing him to Peach is actually kinda funny. XD
And as for the shading...I don't think it looks bad with your style, actually. The only thing I'd recommend is maybe kicking the contrast up a notch. OTHERWISE IT'S FINE (even cel-shading is better for you).
