One evergreen desire is a personal flying machine : it was a dirigible in the 1900s, an helicopter in the 1950s, a ducted fan car in the 1990s and a multi-copter in the 2010s. This dream was rarely realized : one of the few instance i know of is Alberto Santos-Dumont using one to his small dirigibles for trips around Paris, as show in this photo.

This concept takes inspiration from two dirigibles :
- The Personal Floatation Device concept by the Interstate Traveler Corporation, with its collapsible gas envelope. Rather than this complex shape, I am using an approximate cylinder based on the Schwarz lantern.
- Konstantin Danilewsky's Number 4 airship from 1899 with its vertically-oriented gas envelope.
