I have a few rules on my characters that helps me with their design and interactions. I had a thought last night about one of them, and doodled this up.
One of BLK's rules is that despite being eight foot tall and rather tubby, he has to fit through a door in his non-magic state. I don't always follow this too well when drawing the character, so this a commentary on such misses... and other things.
Question Time: Do you have any interesting rules for your characters?

Size rules are definitely really hard to follow. I have this same rule regarding still being able to fit through doors and interact normally for my boar, Kane, but he's actually a bit bigger deliberately so that any 'normal' interactions will more often than not be awkward due to how inconveniently large he is. It was a question of how big can I make him while still being able to perform, albeit with difficulty. Took me a long time to settle on a height because of this, and a lot of research staring at average doorway sizes and ceiling heights for reference.
Most modern standard doors are 6' 8" tall (80 inches) and 3' wide (36 inches), so it shouldn't be too difficult for BLK to fit in most human sized doors.
I wonder how would a modern setting that has races of widely variable sizes handle architecture standards. It would be interesting to see how one handles it for both a race that's usually around 4ft tall and one that easily grows to 9ft~10ft tall on average.

The number of people that actually chose to smell Hooktail's feet is higher than yoou thought!
I think a big rule for me is that my eyes should be orange and "black" not black and white, preferably "eevee" style eyes. And for Hewlett, don't show his eyes unless it's a big action. Eyes are important.
But I would need more experience with knowing when it's right or in poor taste for another artist to use the "It's my art style!" excuse.
