This may take a little explaining. In this older image I was trying to show what it might be like if Dragon riders and their mounts were playing a role similar to that of the A-1 "Skyraider" which was a popular warplane used in the early 1970s. The dragon tries it's best to use the arrestor cables strung across the deck of the carrier.

Surely they'd land her WW1-style by steaming into the wind and getting a crew of mechanics to pull her down by the talons? Either that or ditch the poor girl in the ocean :(
Wooden decks would have to be replaced every 3 months. Harrieresque V/STOL launches would be possible though.

CVE 139 was the highest number for escort carriers; the highest actually named was CVE 127, USS Okinawa (never commissioned); highest actually commissioned was CVE 122, USS Palau. Note that this was a separate run of numbers than for fleet carriers, which is still ongoing with the Ford class.
