Was poking around more of Zoo Funnies and on the inside front cover of Volume 2 Issue 1, July 1953, was this story featuring ... Super Atomic Fox, along with ... I think it's Atomic Rabbit? I'm not sure. There's an Atomic Rabbit story farther inside the book, and he looks different, but it's not like a funny animal comic to be even remotely consistent about character models. Also appearing this issue: Atomic Mouse, so, this could be a critical mass of funny animal superhero here.

Anyway the original I'm copying here is from https://comicbookplus.com/?dlid=59353 page 2 and the artist isn't credited. I'm bothered too. I don't want to just say Ken Hultgren at any appealing-looking character I see but, have to say, I see a lot of Tom Cat in the way Super Atomic Fox looks there.

Since Super Atomic Fox only has this black-and-white appearance I had to guess at his colors. Turns out based on other issues I did all right, but got his cape wrong. Should be yellow instead. Eh. Not going to bother changing that. He can take it up with me if he's bothered.
