A commission for a recurring client whom I have had the pleasure of working for many times to the point where the character almost feels like family. I really like how this one turned out. The client's order was simply to draw his character and the line "Now you'll understand why you fear the dark." and gave me creative freedom to go ham. I love it when I get orders like these. Anyways, this is what I came up with. I've drawn this character's details several times now so I wanted to present something a bit different this time by emphasizing on the pose, composition, and overall impact of the piece. I used a strong backlight and kept the character mostly in the shadows to emphasize the silhouette as an embodiment of the "dark" which was inspired by the iconic Batman pose. What do you guys think?
