I recently came up with a new egg design. I was so inspired by the design of mushrooms that I decided to slightly expand the list of additions that the winner can get.
This design was inspired by fluorescent mushrooms and cordyceps mushrooms (a mushroom that makes zombie ants out of ants)
I gave it the name "Vakilium". The purpose of this mushroom is to capture the mind of the host and absorb his flesh.
It lives in tropical forests, most often you can stumble upon it near reservoirs.
Feels comfortable near water and at high soil humidity.

"Vakilium" sprays its spores on animals passing by the mycelium, then it takes 4-8 days to capture the mind, (it all depends on the size of the living creature and their resistance) after which "Vakilium" leads its victim back to the river to share the caught prey with the entire mycelium.

Some peoples living in the tropical forests where the "Vakilium" grows, use it for a ritual.
The ritual is that the younger warriors, who have reached adulthood, are sent to the river infected with mushrooms and infect them with spores. After that, the young warrior must independently get rid of the infection and return back to the village. If he succeeded, then he gets the status of a brave and persistent warrior, since he did not submit to the forces of deadly mushrooms. This promotes him up in the hierarchy of the village and gives him a chance to challenge the head of the village, and of course, in case of victory, to become the head of the village himself.

If a living being has managed to heal from the "Vakilium" spores, then he becomes blind, but acquires the ability to feel the environment in a special way. He no longer needs eyes, as he will see more than everyone else.

The probability of death after infection with "Vakilium" is 95%
You can heal from the "Vakilium" spores if you prepare a decoction from a mixture of several tropical plants and drink it. The recipe for this decoction is secret and only the survivors own it, but for some reason they do not tell the others what the secret of the medicine is…

There are 3 stages of infection with this deadly fungus
Stage 1. The spores enter the body and try to get to the brain. Small glowing lightning appears on the iris of the eye and all the mucous membranes of the body. The infected person feels weak.
Stage 2. The spores get to the brain and begin to drive the infected crazy. They cause a feeling of panic and ask to go to the water. Mushrooms quickly germinate on their victim, making it difficult for him to move. The body is covered with a grid of mushroom roots. Some mushrooms begin to emit gas and flare up like matches. (it's enough just to put them out, while there are not many of them) the white of the eye turns black.
Stage 3. Mushrooms sprout all over the body. all the mushrooms emit gas, and then burst into a bright flame, which causes the victim to run to the river in a panic. The pupils emit a bright fluorescent light. The spores have already sprouted deeply in the brain and direct their victim to the river where the infection occurred. The living creature gets to the river, but the spores pull it to a large cluster of mushrooms, where the victim falls. The wet mycelium extinguishes the flame and does not let go of its victim. Absorbs it, dragging it further into the mycelium.

The healing stage. If the victim was lucky, and he was able to find a cure and get rid of the spores, then in any case, consequences await him.
In places where mushrooms have managed to germinate and flare up, burn scars will remain. Blindness in both eyes. the eyes will glow in the dark. A special sense of the environment, the ability to see more than others. Immunity to "Vakilium" disputes. Can talk to the mycelium. The mycelium now considers him a mushroom, one of them. The mycelium will ALWAYS talk to him and report all the information she receives. The former victim now wants to be near the mushrooms herself and take care of them.

Sometimes jungle explorers and adventurers stumble upon reservoirs infected with the "Vakilium" fungus. And they talk about seeing someone surrounded by mushrooms from afar. And this stranger looked like a guru who had known the world. So happy and peaceful. Or maybe it's all stories, because everyone knows that you can't approach these mushrooms if your life is dear to you.
