The moss in the foreground gives this picture a nice quiet feel. Cool breezes and damp earth. What's this? Gracie sitting still? I just realized that this is her first spring and all this is new to her. How wonderful!

What?? I've been taking pictures just as long as you have, but i'm not NEARLY this good:S You must have some real talent in this area^^,
I saw your website, it's unreal;) Gonna look around there now and then to look at your pics, but don't expect it to be done within a month:p I'm really slow when i find stuff like this to do:p

Ah thanks. Yah, I've been told I've got an innate sense of perspective, framing and such. Often someone who knows photography well (my local friend used to teach) will tell me what I've been doing unconsciously. It's very flattering of course.
Note: Subjects are ALL!!! I know how I've been blessed for that. Unfortunately the decaying urban landscape genre is rather full, because far too much of the world is a decaying urban landscape.

Your friend is right you know:p I can't take pics like this:S I just don't "see" the subjects:s I don't try to take pics like this anymore, i gave up and started drawing instead. Now i just take pics when i travel somewhere to keep as memories:p
Decaying urban landscape can be pretty too you know:p Untouched nature is nice as well, if you can find some that is... I can't tell you where to go looking:p Maybe somewhere deep in Alaska;)

Well there's a few main things to keep an eye on to make sure you don't get a crappy picture. Foremost I'd have to say would be light of course, it's your palette. You want two things, color and contrast, both of which you'll get in the mornings and evenings. Watch where your shadows are pointing, line things up well, make sure you're back because you can always crop, and watch for all the elements in your picture. Divide it into foreground, mid, and background. This is an extreme example of that.
Oh I did LOTS of pictures! Wish I would have had all day with those five or ten minutes of sunset. When my Tardis gets out of the shop I'll have another go at it. Here's a bunch of the variations I shot, and there'd be more than these too. Check the "Fire and Ice" section.
