Things that make this situation easier !!
* He doesn't actually live all that far away from the campus. He's close enough that he doesn't need to drive to get to class - twenty minute walk or so at a brisk pace.
* He lives alone, so no roommates to try to explain this situation to. Once he's in, he's home free!

Things that make the situation harder !!
* He doesnt walk to work just because he likes it; Issac doesnt actually own a car. So, cant just hop in the vehicle and zoom on home.
* The direct route goes down a pretty often trafficked route, so his only recourse is weaving through side streets and little strips of undeveloped woods to get back to his house unseen!

The fairy is, of course, nowhere to be seen. Probably there, invisible, watching him struggle with a big wide smile.
