A photo of a deer I managed to take while on an evening nature walk. Most of the time, the deer see or hear me and bolt long before I can get anywhere near this close.

Thanks! Usually these things yeet themselves through the foliage before I even see them, I was happy to finally get a good shot of one (relatively) up close.
So graceful, so beautiful, yet so anxious and so stupid at times...
Maybe I need to gather up all my deer pics and show you sometime. Some of the pics even have more than 8 pixels of deer in them! Last week, I took several shots of a deer wading in the river (when I could get a glimpse through the foliage, of course), I thought maybe since that part of the river ran parallel to the trail the deer was just afraid to come too close and was going to try to get to the woods nearby, but instead they decided to start eating some vegetation growing out of the water.

Thanks! The deer was relatively close, I'm terrible at estimating distances but I'd say 50 feet or so away. The zoom on my camera is quite poor, but at 1x the resolution is great, it's good for casual point-and-shoot photography and I've been trying to learn to use it accordingly.
Things like plants, fungi, rocks, and stuffed animals that hold still? Excellent. Ultra-anxious forest cows that yeet themselves through the foliage the moment they hear a single footstep? Not so much. I just got extremely lucky.
