I may have gone mad with power and made almost every OC I could in Heroforge over the weekend. (There's still one who I haven't fleshed out enough to decide what clothes she'd like.) For the sake of not overwhelming people with uploads with lengthy descriptions, I'm going to do one character a day-ish. I figured I'd start with my trio of snakes.
This fellow goes by he/they, so I'll be alternating pronouns every other sentence to reflect this. This is not what he would do in-character, it's just an illustrative measure. Having thus gotten that disclaimer out of the way:
In a sense, Marcel originated in 2009, when my late-teen escapist fantasies were about being a fantasy wizard. I was into furry back then, but having my own fursona hadn't quite clicked yet. Fantasy wizard Docgator had a ball python butler named Keela, after the villain dragon from NES Legacy of the Wizard. I had just watched a YouTube playthrough of it at the time and thought the name sounded cool. Eventually, I became dissatisfied with the setting I had come up with, especially after getting more heavily into furry, and Keela was retired.
But earlier this year, I saw a Legacy of the Wizard TAS in my YouTube recommendations and had meatbrain memories. I decided I should give the snake butler concept another chance. However, since I already have a Burmese python OC, I wanted to pick a new species that was visually distinct from both of my other snakes. I picked anaconda because green. The next step was to give them a new name for a fresh start. I was torn between picking a Spanish name or a French one. I stumbled upon Marcel, which was tagged as both Spanish and French. The perfect compromise. I ultimately decided to give him a French last name because if I'm going to make my Burmese python Scottish and my king cobra ambiguously European, I might as well go all the way with not matching the language to the species' IRL geography :P
While I was building him in Heroforge, it occurred to me that one of my snakes already had a tuxedo, and I wanted more visual distinction. Thankfully, it didn't take long to realize that Marcel could apply to join the Cryptic796 Seglagg Sweatervest Society. Unfortunately, Heroforge doesn't have sweatervests, so I had to settle for the closest option they had. Just pretend it's a sweatervest. The color of their clothes also needed to be visually distinct from the other two snakes. This part I admittedly took a lazy route on and went with a Gaomon color scheme, because Gaomon butler is a classic trope for Digimon furs. Finally, I added glasses because I realized my Docgator sona was the only one with glasses so far. Forgive the weird Heroforge proportions on them.

Marcel's lore is still super WIP. He was faeworld time dilated from 1923, and King Gearlach took him in as the butler of Castle Nebula. This means that while they very much play into the servile butler trope, they also have a high position within the castle staff. Period dress inaccuracies will be handwaved away by saying they bought a new wardrobe from Castle Nebula's local offerings :P
And yes, the teapot is an option for kinkplay. Just be careful with turning it into hot tea painplay, I'm kinda iffy on that D:
