Rainbow Dash, the spunky, brash, adventurous pegasus from the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic series.
Rainbow's easily my favorite pony from the new series, and having heard Laura Faust's claim that she basically "put Firefly's brain in Rainbow Dash" when creating the character, that kinda makes a lot of sense. Old-school troublemaker-supreme Firefly was one of my faves, after all.
Since friends decided to pull a mini-marathon of ponies this weekend, I figured it was high time to try my hand at the FiM style. Rainbow was my first attempt, and it shows.
Prismacolor inks and markers on sketchbook paper. No shading b/c I was trying to stay true to the series...while still using ink lines. (I don't have color inkers, and Prismas bleed too much to attempt to use them as inkers on so small a drawing. But, hey, she's still darling, yes?) She's pretty close to ACEO size, actually - about two inches high.
(Resubmit, because FA seems to be experiencing an acute failure of it's comment-hiding software. Or maybe said hiding settings aren't Chrome-compatible. I dunno. But I like to avoid F-bombs in my G-rated submissions, if for no other reason than I hear them too often anyways.)
