Who wouldn't want to befriend this water dweller? They seem to me as if they'd be able to communicate via telepathy rather than verbal words. Paying a visit to the water to "say" hello would be nice. :)

You are correct. :D That boop on his forehead is both a sensory organ and a means of communication. They are able to project vocalizations into the ley which can be heard by other beings. These guys wouldn't speak English though unless they were taught. They are generally friendly but they can also be exceptionally dangerous, most notably to polluters, litterers, or anyone they perceive as being destructive to their environments.

I can understand it being hostile toward those who destroy its domain. No different than having some stranger smash the windows in your house or someone throwing trash in your yard. I don't base my characters around myself like others do, but my one character in my icon is actually a nature dweller himself. So I would foresee him communicating with this serpent in its' native tongue via telepathy. Funny enough, languages that are not his own come quite natural to him. Though for him he would be sitting in a relaxed position by the water and his eyes would be glowing to indicate he's conversing.

It's too bad I didn't have the funds. The style of your art pieces best match how I see his environment in my head. It's very colorful and mystical including the massive tree in which he resides. His home lands are also protected by his mother's magic which is a magic of a caliber other advanced sentient species are incapable of comprehending. It is also a magic that is known to weed out the greedy, hostile, destructive and disrespectable. :)
