Bahati (the cheetah) and Mehovoj (the tiger) are characters from a book project I had going about 15 years ago (damn, time flies when you're an adult). There were several complications that ended up burning me out, which is quite unfortunate as I poured a lot of effort into it. It would tell the story of the blind cheetah coming of age and finding his own independence in a world that was not very welcoming or safe for someone like him.
Mehovoj is his adoptive brother. His actual brother passed away when they were both very young, and that has led the tiger to become overly overprotective of the cheetah, as he blamed himself for the death of his brother, even though his brother passed away due to some health condition (can't remember which). If you've been following Gaypardo, you'll notice I borrowed that element from his story and applied it to Sandro in the Yesteryears. The original script for Gaypardo did not have Sandro, but since I figured I would never write the book, might as well use that character inspiration in an ongoing project.
Now Yesteryears and Gaypardo will most likely be left behind as well, so might as well bring back the original inspiration and develop their stories in the Lair.
For those wondering, Millie, the tiger introduced in the earlier strips, will be back. As customary in my plots, there will be several threads going on at once, so get ready to be confused and complain a lot about things not making sense in the comments. But hey, now at least you can do something about it; join the Lair and write your own comics yourself! ; )

Wow! This is quite the community you've got going on here at the Lair! I think it's nice that you're able to bring back old characters and have them live out their full potential when they couldn't before. Yes, I did notice the similarities between these two and Sandro (I'm still hoping that poor lion cub gets a happy ending; maybe he makes a new friend who actually appreciates him).
Bahati's really cute, I love how he's just sitting there enjoying the feel of the sun, while wearing that adorable pink sweater vest! Also loved the detail of his foldable cane; nice signal that he's blind. I hope his life is going well enough for him now, especially since modern technology has made things easier for blind people these days.
Heh, Mehovoj is kind of a jerk, but he's the kind of jerk who has good reasons. It's really sad that he blames himself for his brother's death, even though it clearly wasn't his fault. I hope he's somehow able to make peace with that, and to go a bit easier with his adoptive brother, but we'll see.
Hang on, the previous tiger's name is Millie? ^^ Where I come from, that's a girl's name! But I guess it could be a boy's name; there are some names that were once considered a "boy" name before they became a "girl" name ("Ashley" used to be a boy's name, but now it's considered a girl's name). Oh well, he's still a handsome hunk. Nothing will change that. x3

Yeah, technology is really amazing and it has made life for blind people so much easier. There are some really cool gadgets that make modern technology like Internet accessible to them. Bahati is one of the few characters of mine that actually succeed in life, so no need to worry about him hehe Can't all be gloom and doom all the time, after all!
