I appreciate the presentation here--Alt is a good person, who did something stupid and wrong, something he knows is stupid and wrong. Instead of running from that, he has accepted it and is trying his best to meet the consequences of his choice. He will, most likely, stumble along the way, but he accepts that it is his responsibility to do something about what he's done.

Of course, the fact that the "harm" is also, properly speaking, giving Luca superpowers...well. It may be a more difficult life than he had before, but it's certainly not all bad.

A lot of people can empathize with that sentiment! Myself included!
