It brings me to a few ideas for the reason for that expression, and the best reason seems to be someone stepping on the tail...
Why?
Well, for one the screaming angry face, slightly hint of pain, the tear makes me believe my theory even more,
yet the ears are not really laid back as if angered, therefor, someone stepped on the tail
