Another music drawing, this one to Metallica's Turn the Page. One of the main emotions of the song (at least from how it sounds to me) is this kind of worn and weary traveler. And I wanted to try and convey that by means of a tired old soldier. And figured that it'd fit quite well if I contrasted them with someone vibrant and fresh challening them to another fight. And of course in typical me fashion I ended up spending too much time on details that no one would even really notice rather than ones that I should be spending more attention to. I've also noticed that my opinion on backgrounds now is kind of like what I thought of my line work back in 2021, when I kept trying to go lineless because I hated how much the lines looked. And though I don't think my line work is great now, it's functional most of the time. I probably still don't do enough work on managing line weights. But my backgrounds are probably the biggest limiting factor for my art quality. I've proven a few times I can do it, but only via recreating photos. I just need to get better at impromptu background designs. Overall this drawing took me about 3 hours line art, 4 hours color for a total 7 hours drawing time
